Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance abuse issues. This position involves assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, and facilitating therapeutic interventions to promote recovery and improve overall well-being. The Substance Abuse Counselor will work closely with clients, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. We are looking for a LPCC, LPCA, or LCSW. Please do not apply with a TCADC or NON Mental Health Degree.

Duties

Conduct assessments to evaluate clients' substance use history and mental health status.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs and goals.
Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing behavioral therapy techniques.
Implement crisis management strategies to support clients in distress.
Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment
Collaborate with healthcare providers, social workers, and community resources to coordinate patient care.
Educate clients about substance abuse and mental health, recovery options, and coping strategies.
Monitor clients' progress throughout the treatment process and adjust plans as necessary.
Advocate for clients' needs within the healthcare system and community resources.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
Experience in home community care or hospital settings is advantageous.
Knowledge of behavioral therapy practices and psychotherapy techniques.
Familiarity with crisis management protocols in substance abuse treatment.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Master's Degree prefered
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Certification or licensure as a Substance Abuse Counselor is required.
