Full Job Description

Join our dynamic property management team as an Assistant Property Manager specializing in multifamily residential communities. In this energetic role, you will support the overall operation of the property, ensuring a positive experience for residents and maintaining the property's value. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will help foster a vibrant community atmosphere while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow within a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence in property management.

Responsibilities

Assist in leasing activities, including showing units, processing lease agreements, and upselling available units or amenities to prospective tenants.
Manage tenant relations by providing exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, and resolving conflicts promptly and professionally.
Oversee lease or rental agreement management, ensuring all documentation complies with Fair Housing regulations and legal standards such as Landlord-Tenant Law and LIHTC guidelines.
Utilize property management tools to input data accurately, generate reports, and maintain organized records of resident information, rent payments, and maintenance requests.
Support property maintenance coordination by communicating with vendors, scheduling repairs, and ensuring facilities are well-maintained and compliant with safety standards.
Handle and ensuring compliance with Section 8 regulations.
Participate in conflict management efforts by mediating disputes between tenants or staff while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Engage in client communication through phone etiquette, email correspondence, and face-to-face interactions to foster strong relationships with residents and vendors.
Support team management activities by collaborating with colleagues to meet operational goals and uphold high service standards.
A willingness to learn, embrace new opportunities, and expand your knowledge in affordable housing.

Experience

Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles, preferably within multifamily residential communities.
Familiarity with property management software
Strong knowledge of Landlord-Tenant Law, Fair Housing regulations, PBRA, LIHTC compliance, Section 8 programs, and related legal frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to manage lease agreements, conduct negotiations, and handle contracts effectively.
Experience in customer service roles with excellent phone etiquette and client relationship management skills.
Background in office administration including data entry, filing systems, and facilities management is highly desirable.
Ability to manage conflict situations professionally while maintaining a positive community environment.
Strong organizational skills complemented by proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
