Overview

Join us as an Overnight Pharmacist in, Lake Murray SC, and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care during the night shift. Please apply to Req# R1000331. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to apply your clinical expertise, manage pharmacy operations seamlessly, and ensure medication safety and regulatory compliance around the clock. As an integral member of our healthcare team, you will oversee medication dispensing, patient assessments, and pharmacy workflows to support optimal health outcomes for diverse patient populations. Your dedication will help us maintain high standards of service, safety, and compliance in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Duties

Dispense medications accurately while adhering to state and federal pharmacy laws, including USP 797 standards for sterile compounding.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy and identify potential drug interactions or contraindications.
Manage pharmacy operations during overnight hours, ensuring efficient workflow and inventory management of pharmaceuticals.
Prepare and compound medications safely using aseptic techniques, including IV infusions and other sterile preparations.
Utilize pharmacy software systems (PIS, EMR, EHR) to process prescriptions, update patient records, and ensure data integrity.
Provide exceptional patient service by communicating clearly about medication use, side effects, and health management strategies.
Maintain strict pharmaceutical regulatory compliance while practicing clinical confidentiality policies such as HIPAA.
Support immunization services and participate in medical management initiatives for diverse patient groups including pediatrics and LTC residents.
Collaborate with healthcare teams on medication administration plans and contribute to clinical discussions on pain management and acute care needs.

Skills

Extensive pharmacy experience including hospital or clinical pharmacy settings with a focus on critical care or acute care environments.
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, drug regulation, and healthcare compliance standards.
Proven ability to manage pharmacy teams effectively while maintaining high levels of customer service and patient care quality.
Proficiency with pharmacy information systems (PIS), EMR/EHR systems, and inventory management tools.
Experience with compounding medications using USP 797 guidelines and aseptic techniques for IV infusions or sterile preparations.
Demonstrated skills in patient assessment, medication therapy management, and client communication within community or LTC pharmacies.
Certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), immunizations certification, and familiarity with HIPAA regulations are highly desirable.
Ability to practice within the scope of pharmacy laws at the state level while ensuring medical confidentiality policies are upheld at all times.
