Company Overview

A non profit community-based organization committed to providing compassionate, expert Hospice health care. Serving multiple counties in central and eastern, we are recognized for high patient and family satisfaction and are supported by a strong network of volunteers and community partners. Hybrid position with 3 days a week in office.

Job Summary

We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Director of our Finance Department with health care accounting experience to lead our financial operations with integrity and precision. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in financial management, accounting standards, and regulatory compliance within the non-profit sector. As the head of our finance team, you will oversee financial planning, reporting, risk management, and ensure adherence to industry regulations to support our mission-driven organization. This position supervises one employee and is responsible for payroll processing.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with organizational goals, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial projection model development through QuickBooks.
Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Experienced in QuickBooks financial software
Manage treasury functions including cash flow analysis, investment management, and banking relationships to optimize fiscal health.
Lead the preparation of detailed financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal stakeholders and external regulators.
Supervise the finance team in areas such as general ledger accounting, cost accounting, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and account reconciliation.
Conduct risk analysis to identify potential financial vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies; oversee compliance management related to governmental accounting standards and nonprofit regulations.
Drive strategic planning initiatives by providing data analytics insights using advanced data tools; support organizational growth through business development activities and financial modeling.
Work closely with outside CPA firm yearly for annual audit.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, Masters Preferred

Health Care Accounting practices needed.

Proven leadership experience as a finance director or senior financial manager within the nonprofit or healthcare sector.
Extensive knowledge of IAS (International Accounting Standards), GAAP
Strong background in corporate accounting, governmental accounting, risk analysis, regulatory reporting, and fiscal management. Budget and Profit and Loss reporting.
Demonstrated expertise in financial software systems, Excel data analysis tools, and data analytics platforms for effective decision-making.
Excellent skills in financial report writing, interpretation of complex financial statements including profit & loss statements and balance sheets.
Ability to develop sophisticated financial models and forecasts that support strategic growth initiatives.
Exceptional leadership qualities with experience managing diverse teams within a fast-paced environment; strong communication skills are essential for collaboration across departments.
