We are currently seeking a Credit & Collections Representative to support our client's finance team. If you have experience in credit, collections, or accounts receivable and enjoy building customer relationships while solving billing and payment challenges, we encourage you to apply.

Job Title: Credit & Collections Representative
Location: Onsite, Wilmington, MA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week
Hourly Pay Range and Other Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $30-$40/hr DOE and is based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.

Position Overview

As a Credit & Collections Representative, you will support the Credit Manager in managing customer accounts, evaluating credit, resolving billing issues, and collecting outstanding balances. This role works closely with internal teams and customers to maintain accurate account information, reduce delinquency, and ensure timely payments while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Manage customer credit accounts, collections, and accounts receivable activities.
Contact customers regarding past due balances and negotiate payment arrangements.
Research and resolve billing discrepancies and complex credit issues.
Review aging reports and monitor delinquent accounts.
Place holds on customer orders when appropriate and release orders once payment requirements are met.
Evaluate customer credit information and establish or update credit limits.
Set up new customer accounts, verify tax documentation, and maintain accurate account records.
Provide invoices, proof of delivery, statements, and other supporting documentation to customers.
Recommend write-offs or collection agency placement for delinquent accounts when necessary.
Maintain accurate customer information and support the Credit Manager with additional administrative tasks.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least 1 year of experience in credit, collections, accounts receivable, or a related accounting role.
Strong customer service, communication, and negotiation skills.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial transactions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized accounting or ERP systems.
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple accounts, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
