Our tours are spooky, entertaining, and story-driven — but this job is about more than telling
ghost stories.
When guests book a Ghost City tour, they are trusting us with part of their vacation, date night,
family trip, celebration, or once-in-a-lifetime visit. For many guests, their Ambassador is the
only Ghost City Tours team member they will ever meet.
That means this role matters.
We are looking for Ghost City Ambassadors: people who can represent their city, care about
guests, deliver a professional experience, and take pride in being trusted with a live group of
paying customers.
What Is a Ghost City Ambassador?
A Ghost City Ambassador is more than a tour guide.
You are the face of Ghost City Tours in your city. You are responsible for leading guests through a
scheduled walking tour, delivering prepared stories, managing the guest experience, and
helping visitors feel more connected to the city by the end of the night.
This is a fun job, but it is not a casual job.
Our Ambassadors are expected to show up prepared, speak clearly, engage guests, follow
company standards, accept feedback, and understand that every tour matters because every
guest paid for that specific experience.

Showing up is required. Delivering the experience is the job.

You want to “wing it” instead of learning approved tour material.
You are mainly interested in ghost stories but not guest service.
You do not want to work evenings, weekends, or peak tourism times.
You have trouble arriving on time and prepared.
You believe part-time work does not require professional standards.
You are looking for easy money without real responsibility.

the wrong fit is not good for the guests, the team, the company, or the person hired.
Responsibilities
As a Ghost City Ambassador, you will:
Lead scheduled walking tours through assigned city routes.
Deliver Ghost City tour material in an engaging, clear, and professional way.
Welcome guests and create a positive first impression.
Speak loudly and clearly enough for groups to hear you outdoors.
Manage pacing, timing, group movement, and guest attention.
Represent Ghost City Tours professionally in public.
Help guests feel connected to the city, its stories, and its atmosphere.
Follow approved routes, content expectations, safety standards, and company policies.
Communicate professionally with your Tour Guide Manager.
Arrive on time and prepared for every scheduled tour.
Accept feedback and continue improving your delivery.
Protect the guest experience, even when groups, weather, crowds, or other conditions are
challenging.

Responsible enough to understand that guests, managers, and the company are counting on

You do not need to be a historian.
You do not need to be a paranormal expert.
You do not need previous tour guide experience.
Experience in hospitality, customer service, teaching, theater, museums, public speaking,
performance, restaurants, bars, sales, events, or tourism can be helpful — but the most
important qualities are reliability, communication, guest focus, and pride in doing the job well.
Requirements
Applicants must be able to:
Speak comfortably in front of groups.
Learn and retain prepared tour material.
Lead outdoor walking tours in public areas.
Walk and stand for the duration of assigned tours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Navigate city sidewalks, streets, curbs, crowds, and nighttime conditions.
Work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak tourism periods as needed.
Arrive reliably and on time for scheduled tours.
Communicate professionally with management.
Represent Ghost City Tours and the city in a respectful, guest-focused way.
Schedule
This is a part-time position with tours typically scheduled during evenings and weekends.
Availability during weekends, holidays, and busy tourism periods is strongly preferred.
Because tours are booked in advance, reliability is extremely important. When you are
scheduled for a tour, guests have already paid and are expecting a professional experience.
Last-minute callouts should only happen in true emergencies.
Training
Ghost City Tours provides training on tour material, routes, guest expectations, and
performance standards.
Training is also an evaluation period. New Ambassadors are expected to demonstrate reliability,
preparation, communication, coachability, and the ability to deliver a professional guest
experience.
We do not expect perfection on day one.
We do expect effort, ownership, and improvement.
