Full Job Description

Hale Opio Kauai is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to manage day-to-day nonprofit financial operations. This role works closely with the Controller on grant compliance, reporting, internal controls, and audits. This position does not supervise staff.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3–5 years nonprofit accounting experience (grant accounting required)
Proficient in QuickBooks Online & Excel
Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, month-end close
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain general ledger and monthly reconciliations
Manage accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, and vendor support
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Track grant budgets and ensure reporting compliance
Support audits, year-end closing, and tax documentation

Working Conditions:

Office-based, Monday–Friday, standard hours
Occasional lifting (up to 40 lbs)
Must have access to a vehicle if travel is needed
