Full Job Description

HR & Office Manager – Automotive Dealership

Location: Raleigh, NC
Job Type: Full-Time, In-Person

About the Opportunity

A growing, multi-location automotive dealership group in the Raleigh-Durham area is seeking an experienced HR & Office Manager to support our centralized administrative operations.

This is a hands-on position for someone who understands the fast-paced dealership environment and is comfortable handling HR administration, payroll, recruiting, employee onboarding, benefits, and general office/accounting support.

Previous automotive dealership experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

HR & Payroll

Manage day-to-day HR administration for multiple dealership locations.
Prepare, review, and process semi-monthly payroll.
Review timecards, PTO, overtime, missed punches, deductions, commissions, bonuses, and employee changes.
Coordinate new hires, terminations, transfers, and pay changes.
Conduct new hire orientations and complete I-9 documentation.
Manage background checks and drug screenings.
Maintain accurate employee files and HRIS records.
Assist with benefits administration, COBRA, garnishments, and employee deductions.
Monitor unemployment claims and required responses.
Track required employee training and compliance.
Assist employees and managers with routine HR and payroll questions.

Recruiting & Employee Administration

Post open positions and monitor applicants.
Conduct initial HR interviews and coordinate with hiring managers.
Manage onboarding documentation and pay plan signatures.
Maintain employee status, and other HR tracking.
Assist management with employee documentation and HR processes.

Office & Accounting Support

Support the Controller and accounting office with administrative responsibilities.
Maintain organized records, reports, spreadsheets, and employee documentation.
Assist with dealership-specific accounting and office functions as needed.
Help ensure deadlines, internal procedures, and administrative controls are consistently followed.
Coordinate office supplies, uniforms, name tags, business cards, and other administrative needs.
Provide support to dealership managers across multiple locations.

Qualifications

Automotive dealership experience required.
Prior experience in dealership HR, payroll, office management, or dealership accounting strongly preferred.
Experience with dealership payroll and commission-based compensation is highly preferred.
Experience with ADP or similar HR/payroll systems preferred.
Familiarity with a dealership DMS is required.
Strong understanding of payroll, timekeeping, employee records, and HR administration.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
Strong communication skills and professional judgment.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Comfortable working directly with dealership managers and employees in a fast-paced environment.
