Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Demolition Estimator Manager to lead our demolition project estimating team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for demolition projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and project specifications. Your expertise will drive successful project planning, cost control, and client communication, contributing to our reputation for delivering exceptional demolition services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage complex projects within a fast-paced construction environment, utilizing your strong technical skills and leadership abilities to propel our team forward.

Duties

Lead and manage the demolition estimating team, providing guidance on bid preparation, scope development, and cost analysis
Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret project requirements accurately
Develop detailed cost estimates for demolition projects using estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools
Prepare comprehensive proposals including material costs, labor estimates, equipment needs, and subcontractor quotes
Utilize Bluebeam and other construction management software to review plans, annotate documents, and streamline estimating processes
Negotiate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms while maintaining project profitability
Manage project budgets by tracking costs throughout the bidding process and adjusting estimates as needed for accuracy
Coordinate with project managers to ensure estimates align with project schedules, site conditions, and safety standards
Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, material requirements, and potential challenges impacting cost estimates
Oversee the review of contracts and scope of work documents to ensure clarity and completeness in bids

Experience

Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the demolition or heavy civil construction industry
Extensive knowledge of estimating software such as HeavyBid, Xactimate, or equivalent platforms
Strong proficiency in Bluebeam for plan review and markup processes
Demonstrated ability in negotiation with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve optimal pricing outcomes
Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and construction documents related to demolition projects
Solid understanding of construction management software tools including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and spreadsheets for data analysis
Hands-on experience with cost management techniques including material cost estimating and budget control
Familiarity with contracts related to demolition work and construction site safety protocols
Construction industry experience with a focus on commercial demolition projects is highly preferred
