JOB DESCRIPTION: LOGAN COUNTY TOURISM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
POSITION SUMMARY
The Executive Director serves as the chief administrative and operational leader of the Logan County Tourism
Bureau and is responsible for implementing the strategic direction established by the Board of Directors. The Executive Director oversees day-to-day operations, grant administration, financial management, marketing, fundraising, stakeholder engagement, and tourism development while serving as the Bureau's primary representative throughout Logan County.
The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors and is responsible for implementing Board-approved policies, budgets, strategic priorities, and annual work plans.
POSITION INFORMATION
Status: Full-Time (35–40 hours per week)
Salary: $35,000–$42,000 annually
Schedule: Primarily weekday hours with regular evening and weekend work required for meetings, events, and community functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Administration & Financial Management:
- Manage office operations, Bureau property, records, and organizational assets
- Maintain compliance with state non-profit status, CVB status, SAM.gov, and GATA requirements
- Manage the Bureau’s finances, including accurate record-keeping and accounting, and assisting with
- preparation of the annual operating budget
- Oversee grant and project budgets.
- Recruit, coordinate, and recognize volunteers to help staff the Mill, and as needed for other programs
- Implement an annual work plan approved by the Board
- Perform other duties consistent with the responsibilities of the Executive Director as assigned by the Board
2. Grant Management
- Oversee the development, submission, implementation and reporting of the annual Local T ourism and Convention Bureau grant with the state, and any additional grants as agreed upon by the board and Executive Director.
- Oversee the Logan County T ourism Bureau Mini-Grant program, including updating applications and the application process, developing marketing plans and materials to promote the program, communicating with applicants, and working with awardees to distribute funds.
3. Board Support:
- Provide regular reports to the Lincoln City Council, Logan County Board, and Board of Directors.
- Implement Board decisions and policies.
- Assist with Board recruitment and strategic planning efforts.
- Keep the Board informed of significant organizational developments.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
1. Marketing & Strategy:
- Research and develop grant projects that will help advance strategic plan goals
- Develop marketing plans and strategies as needed to advance strategic plan goals
- Develop marketing materials and content to promote Logan County T ourism Bureau work and events, including social media marketing plans, flyers, press releases, and earned media plans
- Contract and work with design and marketing agencies to implement marketing projects
- Update the Logan County T ourism website
- Organize and create a regular social media content calendar, including sharing content from local stakeholders and community groups
- Oversee the development and distribution of local marketing brochures within Logan County communities.
2. Fundraising
- Develop sponsorship opportunities and fundraising initiatives.
- Plan and coordinate fundraising events as approved by the Board, including at least one significant annual fundraising event.
3. Community and Stakeholder Relations
- Build and maintain positive relationships with tourism businesses, local governments, community organizations, volunteers, and regional partners.
- Represent the Bureau at meetings, public events, and tourism functions.
- Prepare and distribute the Bureau's Annual Report.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Financial management and budgeting experience.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with common office technology and software.
- Proficiency with social media
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Preferred:
- Experience in marketing, hospitality, or in the tourism industry
- Grant writing experience
- Experience with Square, Quickbooks, Canva, Google Mail, and Google Drive
- Familiarity with Logan County Tourism assets and history
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during events.
- Ability to work outdoors and travel throughout Logan County.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position is based in Logan County and includes office work, community meetings, tourism events, and occasional overnight travel. A hybrid work schedule that includes remote work may be approved by the Board based on organizational needs and employee performance.
