Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Benefits Program Administrator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a multi-county group benefits program. This role serves as the primary liaison between internal leadership, benefits service partners, consultants, and marketing representatives to ensure effective program administration, compliance, customer service, and growth.
The position combines deep knowledge of group insurance and employee benefits with strong organizational, financial, and communication skills. Responsibilities include partner coordination, group leader support, marketing and outreach initiatives, financial oversight, data analysis, and regulatory compliance. The role also supports strategic planning and occasionally presents program information to governing boards and leadership groups.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary liaison with benefits partners and consultants to ensure alignment on strategy, service delivery, and performance expectations.
Coordinate partner relationships, including onboarding, regular meetings, training, and support for internal staff and group leaders.
Support negotiations with vendors to maintain competitive pricing and value-driven benefit offerings.
Provide expert support to group leaders on eligibility, enrollment, billing, plan design, and regulatory compliance.
Manage onboarding of new groups and communicate benefit program updates, timelines, and policy changes.
Collaborate with marketing teams and partners to support outreach campaigns, enrollment materials, and member communications.
Track engagement, participation, and retention metrics and assist with performance and growth reporting.
Support financial operations, including billing, reconciliations, partner invoicing, budget development, and audit preparation.
Analyze benefits data and program performance to support reporting, renewals, RFPs, and strategic decisions.
Maintain compliance with applicable state and federal benefits regulations (ACA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, HIPAA).
Maintain accurate program documentation, records, and administrative procedures.
Prepare reports and presentations and occasionally present program information to boards, leadership groups, and public audiences.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, Insurance, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
Health and Life Insurance License (Nebraska) required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in the insurance or employee benefits industry, preferably in group benefits administration or brokerage.
Experience in public sector or association benefit programs preferred.
