Full Job Description

A privately held, multi-site agricultural operating company is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the financial performance, facilities operations, maintenance strategy, and overall performance of an 11-site operation in Nebraska.

This is not a warehouse, logistics, or distribution operations position. The role is centered on physical facilities, equipment reliability, preventative maintenance, infrastructure, and keeping operating sites running effectively.

The General Manager will have full P&L responsibility and will lead the managers responsible for day-to-day operations and repair and maintenance. The successful candidate should be comfortable working around mechanical systems, facility infrastructure, controlled environments, and maintenance teams while also providing senior-level financial and organizational leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Own the full operating P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial performance.
Oversee facilities and physical asset performance across 11 operating locations.
Ensure facilities, equipment, and critical operating systems remain reliable and operational.
Lead preventative maintenance strategy and establish accountability for maintenance execution.
Oversee repair and maintenance leadership, technicians, vendors, and contractors.
Ensure effective use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Establish and monitor maintenance, facility reliability, and operating KPIs.
Oversee controlled-environment systems such as HVAC, sensors, controls, and related facility infrastructure.
Ensure appropriate planning and response for equipment failures, outages, and other facility issues.
Guide capital planning for facility repairs, equipment upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
Manage and develop senior operational and maintenance leaders.
Establish standardized processes and expectations across multiple locations.
Identify opportunities to improve reliability, reduce downtime, control costs, and improve asset performance.
Maintain an active field presence across operating locations.
Ensure compliance with applicable production, safety, biosecurity, and regulatory requirements.
Provide executive leadership with clear reporting on financial, facility, maintenance, and operating performance.

The existing GM source specifically assigns responsibility for P&L, facility performance, maintenance strategy, preventative maintenance, CMMS, maintenance KPIs, capital planning, controlled environments, HVAC, sensors, and controls.

Qualifications

7+ years of progressive management experience in a multi-site, asset-intensive environment.
Demonstrated full P&L ownership.
Strong facilities operations and maintenance experience.
Experience overseeing preventative maintenance programs.
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, controls, sensors, or similar facility systems.
Experience managing maintenance personnel, vendors, contractors, or technical teams.
Experience with CMMS or comparable maintenance-management systems.
Strong budgeting, forecasting, and cost-management skills.
Demonstrated ability to establish KPIs and use operating data to improve performance.
Experience managing managers or functional leaders.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving orientation.
Comfortable spending significant time at operating facilities.

Preferred Backgrounds

Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:

Agricultural operations
Poultry or livestock operations
Food production
Manufacturing
Industrial facilities
Plant operations
Facilities management
Other multi-site, equipment-intensive operating environments

Important Background Distinction

Candidates whose experience is primarily in warehouse operations, distribution, logistics, fulfillment, or transportation without meaningful responsibility for facilities, maintenance, equipment, or physical infrastructure are unlikely to be a fit.

Pay: $180,000.00 per year
