Full Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Security and Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, security, and lifecycle management of our enterprise technology environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of network, server, cloud, identity, and cybersecurity platforms while driving strategic technology initiatives that support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure, Network & Security Leadership

Design, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise infrastructure including networking, servers, cloud platforms, identity management, and cybersecurity solutions.
Ensure infrastructure environments are highly available, secure, scalable, resilient, and compliant with organizational standards.
Serve as the primary escalation point for complex infrastructure, network, cloud, and cybersecurity issues.
Lead troubleshooting efforts, root cause analysis, incident response, and issue resolution.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

Develop, implement, and maintain security controls and cybersecurity best practices.
Lead vulnerability management, security monitoring, risk mitigation, and incident response efforts.
Support identity and access management initiatives, including privileged access management and multi-factor authentication.
Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity programs to ensure organizational readiness.

Technology Strategy & Innovation

Lead infrastructure modernization and cybersecurity initiatives from planning through implementation and support.
Evaluate emerging technologies, cybersecurity threats, and industry trends.
Develop technology roadmaps and recommend solutions that improve security, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Provide recommendations related to technology lifecycle planning, budgeting, upgrades, and future investments.

Collaboration & Documentation

Collaborate with business leaders, vendors, auditors, and cross-functional teams to deliver technology solutions aligned with organizational goals.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture standards, operational procedures, security standards, and system diagrams.
Ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, and security requirements.

Leadership & Mentorship

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, administrators, and support staff.
Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the IT organization.
Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support when required.

Additional Responsibilities

Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Follow and carry out assigned instructions.
Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Technical Expertise

Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking, including:
Routing and switching
Wireless networking
Network architecture and design
TCP/IP protocols and subnetting
Infrastructure planning and implementation
Experience with Cisco technologies, including:
Cisco Nexus
Cisco Catalyst
Cisco DNA Center
Cisco ISE
Enterprise wireless platforms
Strong cybersecurity expertise, including:
Security architecture
Network security
Vulnerability management
Incident response
Identity and Access Management (IAM)
Privileged Access Management (PAM)
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Security frameworks and monitoring
Experience with:
Palo Alto security solutions
CyberArk technologies
Microsoft 365
Microsoft Entra ID
Microsoft Azure
VMware virtualization
Hybrid cloud environments
Enterprise server and storage platforms

Professional Skills

Strong leadership and project management abilities.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to mentor and develop technical team members.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Eight (8) to ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.

Preferred Certifications

One or more of the following certifications are highly preferred:

CISSP (ISC²)
CISA (ISACA)
GIAC Certifications
Cisco Security Certifications
CCNP Enterprise
CCNP Security
Microsoft Azure Certifications
CompTIA Security+
Palo Alto Certifications

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
