Full Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for leading the administrative direction for new and expanding ambulatory operations for the Cardiovascular Service Line. Develops and monitors programs by identifying strategies and collaborates with business development on growth opportunities. Monitors regional referral and financial performance. Responsible for executing and foster effective collaboration between outpatient and inpatient facilities, medical staff leadership and other affiliated services to ensure an integrated approach to providing efficient, cost-effective services and fulfilling the system’s clinical transformation goals and strategic growth objectives.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

3. *Creates conditions in the organization such that communication is open, transparent, abundant, timely, and invites dialogue. Engages with staff and leaders to identify and resolve problems that interfere with care delivery.

4. *Uses data sets to assess performance, establish targets, monitor indicators and trends, evaluate performance results, and plan for continuous improvement.

5. *Effectively resolves the clinical concerns of patients, families, and physicians.

6. Develops and implements action plans to optimize patient, staff, and physician satisfaction and engagement.

7. *Serves as an effective liaison for providers and staff with problem solving issues concerning nursing staff and patient care.

8. Plans, organizes, executes and monitors the resources of the organization to ensure optimal health outcomes and effective quality and cost controls.

9. Assists in preparation of budgets and recommends funding based on thorough knowledge of services, costs, and operating procedures. Works with CFO to ensure successful financial operations.

10. *Works with leaders and staff to assure expenses are within budget parameters; reviews and analyzes budget and other management reports and takes action as needed to ensure effective and efficient operations.

11. Effectively manages human resource processes, including scheduling; performance appraisals; staff recruitment; selection and retention; training and education; motivation, coaching, and mentoring; and appropriate productivity measures.

12. *Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing healthcare delivery and the rules of accreditation bodies; oversees monitoring and reporting of such requirements and initiates any quality improvements.

13. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

14. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.

15. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Knowledge of clinical and performance management systems.

2. Knowledge of human resource management practices including supervision, rounding, performance assessments, coaching, and effective use of presence.

3. Knowledge of governmental regulations and reimbursement requirements concerning physician office practices.

4. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions and a passion for facilitating effective use of information technology to support operations and patient care.

5. Skill in conflict diffusion and resolution.

6. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

7. Ability to set and facilitate accomplishment of standards and goals aimed at improving past performance or achieving challenging goals.

8. Ability to understand and explain financial information, prepare and manage budgets, and coach others in this information and processes.

9. Ability to draw implications and conclusions in light of trends and developments and use these insights to make meaningful change or improvements.

10. Ability to work cooperatively with others as part of a team, including demonstrating positive attitudes about the team, its members, and their ability to accomplish goals and mission.

11. Ability to speak, write, and present in a clear, logical manner, as well as effectively lead and facilitate meetings.

12. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information.

13. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision.

14. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field or business administration required. Master’s degree preferred. Five (5) years of related experience with a healthcare service line in an administrative leadership or clinical leadership role with significant business impact is required. Prior clinical experience in cardiac and vascular is preferred.

Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act preferred
