Position Summary
Sunberry Limited LLC, a growing food and beverage manufacturer, is seeking an experienced, driven, and results-oriented Regional Sales Manager to support growth within the K-12 School Nutrition and Healthcare Foodservice segments across the Midwest region.
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience within the food and beverage industry, with a demonstrated ability to develop new business opportunities, manage distributor and broker relationships, navigate bid opportunities, and drive sustainable revenue growth. This individual will play a key role in expanding Sunberry's market presence while building long-term relationships with school districts, healthcare systems, foodservice operators, distributors, and key channel partners.
The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for developing strategic sales plans, managing customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and achieving territory sales objectives while representing the Sunberry brand with professionalism and integrity.
Business Development & Sales Growth
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within K-12 schools, healthcare systems, foodservice operators, distributors, and other targeted market segments.
- Generate sales opportunities through market research, prospecting, referrals, inbound inquiries, cold calling, email campaigns, and in-person customer visits.
- Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve revenue growth and profitability goals.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospect identification through closing and account growth.
- Consistently meet or exceed established sales quotas and performance objectives.
- Maintain and expand a robust pipeline of qualified prospects and opportunities.
Account Management & Customer Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including Food Service Directors, Nutrition Directors, Purchasing Managers, Healthcare Administrators, and Distributor Representatives.
- Understand customer needs and develop tailored solutions that align with Sunberry's product offerings and capabilities.
- Conduct product presentations, virtual demonstrations, and customer meetings to educate prospects and customers on product benefits.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
Foodservice Distribution & Channel Management
- Collaborate with foodservice distributors, brokers, purchasing groups, and channel partners to drive product placement and sales growth.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with regional and national distribution partners.
- Work closely with broker networks and distributor sales teams to maximize territory coverage and business development opportunities.
- Support distributor training and promotional initiatives.
Bid & Contract Management
- Research and identify relevant bid opportunities within K-12 and healthcare channels.
- Prepare and submit bids, proposals, RFP responses, and pricing quotations in accordance with company guidelines.
- Coordinate contract negotiations and renewal opportunities.
- Monitor customer pricing, contract performance, and competitive market activity.
Product & Market Development
- Maintain current product sell sheets, presentations, and product specification documents.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences to identify growth opportunities.
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support product innovation and business strategy.
- Collaborate with marketing, operations, and product development teams to support sales initiatives.
Trade Shows & Industry Events
- Plan, coordinate, and attend regional and national trade shows, conferences, distributor events, and customer meetings.
- Organize product samples, promotional materials, and event logistics.
- Represent Sunberry professionally at all industry functions and networking events.
Reporting & Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate customer information, sales activity, pipeline management, and forecasting within Salesforce or a similar CRM platform.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and territory performance updates.
- Participate in sales meetings, strategic planning sessions, and cross-functional team initiatives.
Travel Requirements
- Travel extensively throughout the assigned Midwest territory, including:

- Travel is required to support customers, distributors, trade shows, industry events, and business development activities.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Food Science, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of successful sales experience within the food and beverage, foodservice, consumer packaged goods (CPG), ingredient, or manufacturing industries.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales and revenue targets.
- Experience selling into K-12 school nutrition programs, healthcare foodservice, foodservice operators, or related segments.
- Strong understanding of foodservice distribution channels and purchasing processes.
- Experience working with brokers, distributors, purchasing cooperatives, and institutional customers.
- Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, accounts, and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the Midwest region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling beverages, juices, snacks, frozen products, shelf-stable products, or foodservice products.
- Established relationships with major foodservice distributors such as Sysco, Gordon Food Service (GFS), US Foods, Performance Food Group (PFG), or regional distributors.
- Experience with school nutrition bids, commodity programs, and healthcare procurement processes.
- Knowledge of food safety requirements, product specifications, labeling regulations, and foodservice operational practices.
- Experience presenting products at School Nutrition Association (SNA), healthcare foodservice, and foodservice distribution industry events.
- Experience managing strategic regional or national accounts.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $60,000 to $100,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and industry expertise.
