Part-Time Professional Pet Sitter & Dog Walker (W-2)Turn Your Love of Animals Into Work That Matters
Pet Care Club Lake Norman–Concord is looking for dependable, energetic animal lovers to join our professional pet care team.
This is not a sit-down job—and it is more than playing with puppies all day. Our Sidekicks walk dogs, care for pets in their own homes, follow detailed instructions, communicate clearly, work outdoors in changing weather, and make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved.
In return, you’ll enjoy meaningful work, plenty of fresh air, flexible scheduling, and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with pets and their people.
We are currently hiring in:
- North Charlotte
- Huntersville
- Cornelius
- Mooresville
- Concord
Scheduling Expectations
Applicants must be able to commit to consistent availability at least two to three days per week during agreed-upon service windows.
Additional opportunities may include:
- Morning, midday, or evening visits
- Weekends and holidays
- Vacation pet sitting
- Overnight care
- Additional visits outside your regular availability
While we offer flexibility, pets depend on consistency. Team members must be dependable and able to honor the availability they provide.
Holiday Availability
Some holiday work is mandatory. Pets need care every day of the year, and it would not be fair for the same team members to work every holiday while others take them all off.
Holiday schedules are organized as fairly as possible across the team. Management considers each employee’s family traditions, plans, and needs when assigning holiday coverage. If you are scheduled to work a particular holiday, we will make every effort to arrange your visits around the time you need with your family.
Applicants must understand that professional pet care requires sharing holiday responsibilities with the rest of the team.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional dog walks, potty breaks, playtime, enrichment, and companionship.
- Deliver reliable in-home pet sitting while following each pet’s established care routine.
- Provide overnight care when accepted as part of your availability.

- Safely handle dogs and other animals using company-approved leash, restraint, and handling practices.
- Reinforce good behavior using positive, fear-free methods.
- Monitor pets for changes in behavior, appetite, mobility, bathroom habits, or overall well-being.
- Write clear, detailed visit journals and take quality photos for pet parents.
- Communicate promptly and professionally with clients, fellow sitters, team leads, and management.
- Arrive on time and manage multiple visits and travel time throughout the day.
- Follow client instructions and Pet Care Club safety procedures without taking shortcuts.
- Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other changing weather conditions when it is safe to do so.

- Must have at least one year of hands-on experience caring for pets.
- Must be comfortable caring for different types of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, and other household pets.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel between clients’ homes.
- Must pass a mandatory background check.
- Must be comfortable working independently and following detailed written instructions.
- Must have a reliable smartphone and be comfortable using a mobile app for schedules, GPS tracking, journals, and team communication.
- Must communicate clearly, professionally, and promptly.
- Must be physically able to walk dogs, remain active throughout a shift, bend, kneel, climb stairs, carry pet-care supplies, and safely assist animals when needed.
- Must be dependable, organized, observant, and able to manage time effectively.
