Full Job Description

Join our dedicated team as a Direct Care Staff member, where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, personalized care to individuals with diverse needs. This energetic position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents by supporting their daily activities, ensuring safety, and fostering a warm, respectful environment. You will work closely with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to promote independence, dignity, and well-being in a supportive setting.

<Duties>

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition or behavior
Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and clean-up to promote proper nutrition and hygiene
Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, resident progress, and incident reports in accordance with facility policies
Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic programs to enhance their quality of life and emotional well-being

<Skills>

Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments
Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs accurately
Strong understanding of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, autism support, and hospice care practices
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs
Excellent communication skills for working with individuals with developmental disabilities or other special needs
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information
CPR and First Aid certifications are required; additional certifications such as medication administration or home health experience are preferred
Ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining a positive attitude and compassionate approach
