Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Front Desk Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our healthcare facility. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providers, and visitors, ensuring a smooth and efficient front office operation. Your energetic approach and excellent communication skills will help foster a positive patient experience while managing administrative tasks with precision. You will handle appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, insurance verification, and medical records management, all while maintaining strict adherence to confidentiality and healthcare regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality patient care through exceptional administrative support.

Duties

Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing outstanding customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out processes.
Verify insurance coverage, process medical billing, and manage collections in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Review and update patient information, ensuring accuracy in medical records and documentation review procedures
Manage phone communication professionally by answering inquiries, scheduling calls, and directing messages efficiently
Maintain organized filing systems for medical records, ensure proper documentation review, and handle electronic health records (EHR) management with proficiency in systems like Meditech or Epic
Support clinical staff with administrative tasks such as preparing care plans, managing health information management activities, and supporting clinic operations
Uphold clinical confidentiality policies at all times while handling sensitive patient information

Requirements

Proven experience 2+ years as a medical receptionist or front desk administrative support in a healthcare setting with clinic experience preferred
Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including verification, billing, collections, Medicare procedures, and health insurance terminology
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; experience with electronic health records management is highly desirable
Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, ICD coding practices, and documentation review procedures
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with office equipment
Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Bilingual abilities are a plus to better serve diverse patient populations
Understanding of HIPAA compliance standards and clinical confidentiality policies is essential
Strong organizational skills with clerical experience in filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and office management
