With continued growth and expanding services, we are seeking a Yard Associate to support day‑to‑day yard operations and deliver a safe, organized, and customer‑focused auction environment.
The Yard Supervisor plays a hands‑on role in supporting sellers, buyers, and internal teams by managing and overseeing the flow, organization, and handling of auction assets. This position is based out of our Litchfield, MN site and reports directly to the Lead Auction Coordinator.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Yard Operations & Asset Handling
- Receive, unload, tag, and organize incoming auction items in accordance with company standards and auction timelines
- Maintain an orderly, clearly labeled, and accessible yard to support efficient auction setup, buyer pickup, and seller drop‑off
- Assist with staging and movement of equipment to ensure assets are properly positioned and ready for auction events
- Manage ongoing relationships with detailers and third‑party vendors to ensure timely service, quality standards, and alignment with yard and auction needs
- Ensure internal work orders and external invoices are attached to the correct auction and/or specific asset
Yard Staff Supervision & Leadership
- Provide daily direction and oversight to yard staff, ensuring work is prioritized, assigned, and completed efficiently
- Maintain an active, visible presence in the yard throughout the workday to monitor productivity, safety, and quality of work
- Coach, train, and support yard employees on procedures, equipment operation, and safety expectations
- Hold yard staff accountable for attendance, performance, timekeeping accuracy, and professional conduct
- Collaborate with leadership on staffing needs, scheduling, training gaps, and performance concerns
Customer & Team Support
- Provide professional, courteous assistance to sellers during equipment drop‑off and buyers during post‑sale loadout
- Communicate proactively with the Sales and Auction Coordination teams regarding asset arrivals, pickups, staffing needs, and yard priorities
- Serve as a reliable on‑site leader to support smooth auction operations and positive customer experiences
Equipment Operation & Safety
- Safely operate a variety of equipment, including skid steers, loaders, farm & construction machinery, and company vehicles, as required
- Enforce safety protocols and best practices to protect employees, customers, and auction assets
- Identify, address, and report safety concerns, equipment issues, or operational risks promptly
Facility Maintenance & Organization
- Oversee overall maintenance of the yard, out buildings, and auction facility, including cleanliness, organization, and basic landscaping
- Ensure shop, yard, and staging areas are maintained in a clean, professional, safe, and efficient manner
- Gather quotes from vendors for potential facility and equipment improvements
- Provide Insite on capital expenditures, while being fiscally responsible
EXPERIENCE
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet the company’s driving eligibility standards are required
- Ability to consistently lift up to 75 lbs. and perform physical tasks including bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods
- Background in agriculture, construction, equipment handling, or related fields is strongly preferred
- Prior experience leading or supervising employees is strongly preferred
- Willingness and ability to obtain a CDL‑A is strongly preferred
