Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The General Manager (GM) helps the Sr. Management Team to ensure that day-to-day business operations run smoothly for Hilton brand hotel. The General manager will draw up weekly schedules, prepare supply order lists. General manager manages training, recruiting, covering call ins and manage resources. This position will also manage preventative maintenance, deep cleaning and mange brand standards. Maintaining the guest experience score and guest enrolment requirements.

General Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

1. This position is responsible for covering call ins for all shifts.

2. Keep track of the future occupancy for upcoming events and manages rates to maximize the revenue.

3. Try to build the rapport with regular guests and the higher guest satisfaction score.

4. Register guests and assigns rooms. Accommodates special requests whenever possible.

5. Assists in pre-registration and blocking of rooms for reservations.

6. Thoroughly understand and adheres to proper credit, direct bill and cash handling policies and procedures.

7. Must be sales-minded. Presents options and alternatives to guests and offers assistance in making choices. Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel.

8. Coordinates room status updates with the housekeeping department by notification housekeeping of all checkouts, late checkouts, early check-ins, special requests, and day use rooms.

9. Accurately post cash payments and monitors financial reports.

10. Knows how to use front office equipment/s.

11. Follows procedures for collecting and issuing the incidental hold and cash deposits.

12. Works closely with the housekeeping department in the keeping room status reports up to date and coordinates requests for maintenance and repair work. Monitor and manage the room maintenance requests appropriately and timely manner on especially high occupancy days.

13. Uses proper mail, package, and message handling procedures and record details.

14. Reads and initials the pass-on log daily. Ensure employees are clear on daily/weekly updates and activities with staff.

15. Monitor special request report for additional guest requirements.

16. Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the Sr. Management team.

17. Knows all safety and emergency procedures, is aware of accident prevention process.

18. Understand that business demands sometimes make it necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift to other shifts and or department.

19. Monitor front desk email for any OTA reservations/cancellations/ special requests during your shifts. Monitor fax machine for any reservation/cancellations print outs.

20. Cooperating with the Sr. Management team and assisting with anything from project planning to staff management.

21. Nurturing positive working relationships with staff. Setting a good example for staff.

22. Delegating daily tasks. Addressing any issues in a timely fashion.

23. Supervising staff and controlling merchandise.

24. Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed.

25. Oversee the preventative maintenance of hotel and upkeep of the property.

26. Responsible for preparing employee’s schedule and send it to Sr. Management for review.

27. Responsible to prepare and pass for all hotel inspections for franchise or health and county inspections.

28. Required to perform any other task as needed-where needed and assigned by Sr. Management team per hotel operation’s need.
