Cabinet Finisher Job Description
1. Understand and follow instructions given by the shop foreman.
2. Have thorough knowledge and ability to use all hand and power tools.
3. You must have the following hand tools to work in the shop:
- Tape measure, steel ruler, and combination square
- Hammer, mallet, flat pry bar, minim pry bar, and nail set
- Hand saw, chisels, and utility knife
- Screwdriver, driver tips, countersink drill bits, and drill bits
- Torpedo level, scribing tool, 2’ level, tool belt, and portable toolbox
4. Ability to mark and cut lumber, plywood, etc and read a measuring tape accurately to the 1/16”.
5. Able to understand and interpret drawings and material sets.
6. Capable of cutting, machining and assembling cabinet parts.
7. Capable of sanding assembled cabinets and related parts.
8. Able to install hardware on finished cabinets.
9. Able to install finished cabinets and related parts on the job site.
10. Must be proficient in spraying stains, paint, sealer, and varnish onto assembled cabinets.
11. Must be proficient in shading and glazing techniques.
12. Must be proficient in conversion varnishes, touchups, and able to repair all types of sprayed finishes.
13. Familiar with spray booth equipment and able to maintain spray booth equipment.
14. Demonstrate a willingness to learn all facets related to cabinet making.
15. Be responsible for your own productivity and efficiency.
16. Use care and respect when utilizing company tools, equipment and vehicles.
17. Maintain professional appearance, meaning clean clothes, well groomed, and presentable to clients.
18. Be considerate of all customers and be a good representative of the company.
19. Abide by Simeral safety guidelines.
20. Maintain a strong attendance record, meaning less than 4 days a year missed other than paid vacation and holidays (or other absences if approved by management due to unique circumstances) and reports to the cabinet shop a prior to start time, and works to quitting time with no early departures.
21. Able to lift up to 75 lbs. and lift heavy objects including but not limited to large, tall cabinets, combination cabinets, 5-gallong paint cans, etc.
22. Cabinet projects in terms of installation are mostly located within 1 hour 15 minutes from our office, occasionally some may be located as far as 3 to 4 hours from our office.
23. Hours are 6:30 am to 3:30 pm; overtime is available depending on workload for the cabinet shop.
24. Not required but a plus, willing and able to occasionally work on residential construction sites as a laborer or carpenter.

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
