As we expand our psychological testing services, we are seeking an experienced Texas-licensed psychologist specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder evaluations. This psychologist will help develop and provide comprehensive autism assessments for children, adolescents, and/or adults within their demonstrated areas of training and competency.
Position Overview
The Licensed Psychologist – Autism Evaluation Specialist will conduct comprehensive psychological and developmental evaluations for individuals referred for suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder and related neurodevelopmental conditions.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in autism assessment, differential diagnosis, standardized testing, clinical interviewing, and psychological report writing. The psychologist will collaborate with Shiloh Health’s psychiatric providers and clinical team to ensure patients and families receive thoughtful diagnostic clarification, meaningful recommendations, and a practical path forward.
This is a part-time, in-person 1099 independent contractor opportunity at our Southlake, Texas location.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive autism evaluations for children, adolescents, and/or adults within the psychologist’s demonstrated areas of competency.
- Complete diagnostic interviews with patients, parents, caregivers, and other relevant individuals.
- Select, administer, score, and interpret standardized psychological and autism assessment instruments.
- Administer and interpret the ADOS-2 when clinically appropriate and within the psychologist’s formal training and demonstrated competency.
- Evaluate developmental, behavioral, emotional, cognitive, adaptive, and social functioning as clinically indicated.
- Assess for co-occurring and differential diagnoses, including ADHD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, intellectual or developmental disabilities, trauma-related conditions, and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Review relevant medical, psychiatric, developmental, educational, and behavioral records.
- Integrate test results, clinical findings, records, and collateral information into clear and comprehensive psychological evaluation reports.
- Provide well-supported diagnostic impressions and individualized recommendations.
- Conduct feedback sessions with patients and/or families to explain evaluation findings, diagnoses, recommendations, and next steps.
- Recommend appropriate therapies, school accommodations, community resources, psychiatric services, and additional testing when indicated.
- Collaborate with Shiloh Health’s psychiatric providers and other members of the care team.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and professional clinical documentation.
- Contribute to the continued development of Shiloh Health’s autism evaluation program, including assessment protocols, report templates, clinical workflows, and quality standards.
- Maintain all applicable ethical, professional, HIPAA, licensing, and documentation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Qualifying PhD or PsyD in Psychology from an appropriate doctoral psychology program.
- Active, unrestricted Texas Licensed Psychologist license or ability to obtain Texas licensure before beginning clinical services.
- At least two years of independent psychological assessment experience.
- Training and experience conducting Autism Spectrum Disorder evaluations.
- Experience administering, scoring, and interpreting standardized psychological assessments.
- Formal ADOS-2 training and demonstrated competency for psychologists who will independently administer and interpret the ADOS-2.
- Experience evaluating children, adolescents, and/or adults within the psychologist’s demonstrated areas of competency.
- Strong knowledge of DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria and differential diagnosis.
- Excellent clinical interviewing, psychological report-writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary behavioral health team.
- Ability to provide services on-site in Southlake, Texas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience evaluating individuals across the lifespan.
- Advanced experience conducting autism and neurodevelopmental evaluations.
- Experience with developmental, cognitive, adaptive, ADHD, and neuropsychological assessment instruments.
- Experience evaluating complex clinical presentations in which autism overlaps with psychiatric, developmental, behavioral, or other neurodevelopmental conditions.
- Experience working in an outpatient behavioral health or multidisciplinary psychiatric setting.
