Our client is seeking an experienced BIM Designer to support commercial and industrial electrical construction projects. This individual will play a key role in transforming electrical design concepts into detailed, coordinated, and buildable plans.
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of BIM modeling/design experience specifically within electrical contracting. Candidates should have strong hands-on experience with Revit and Navisworks and a solid understanding of electrical systems, construction drawings, coordination, and constructability.
This position works closely with Project Managers, field supervisors, designers, and other construction trades to ensure electrical systems are accurately modeled and coordinated before installation.
Develop and manage detailed electrical BIM models using Revit.
Create accurate models for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
Translate electrical design concepts and construction documents into detailed, buildable models.
Maintain model accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
Update models based on project changes, field conditions, and coordination requirements.
Utilize Revit for electrical BIM modeling and design.
Utilize Navisworks for project coordination and clash detection.
Review coordinated models to identify potential conflicts before construction.
Make necessary model adjustments based on coordination findings.
Maintain organized and accurate BIM documentation.
Participate in clash detection and BIM coordination meetings.
Coordinate electrical systems with mechanical, plumbing, structural, architectural, and other construction trades.
Identify conflicts between electrical systems and other building components.
Work with project teams to resolve clashes before field installation.
Help ensure electrical designs are practical and constructible.
Create detailed electrical shop drawings.
Produce layout plans and installation documentation for field teams.
Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and electrical plans.
Ensure drawings accurately communicate installation requirements.
Incorporate approved design and coordination changes into project documentation.
Work closely with Project Managers, field supervisors, and other designers.
Communicate design and coordination issues clearly to project stakeholders.
Support field teams by providing accurate and practical construction documentation.
Help resolve design or constructability issues that arise during project execution.
Maintain strong communication between BIM/design teams and field operations.
Review electrical models and drawings for accuracy and constructability.
Identify potential installation problems before they reach the field.
Ensure BIM deliverables meet project requirements and quality expectations.
Maintain strong attention to detail across drawings, models, and project documentation.
Stay current with BIM best practices and emerging construction technologies.
2+ years of BIM modeling/design experience within electrical contracting.
Direct experience working for or supporting an electrical contractor.
Strong proficiency with Revit.
Strong proficiency with Navisworks.
Experience developing electrical BIM models.
Experience with clash detection and construction coordination.
Experience creating shop drawings, layout plans, and installation documentation.
Strong understanding of electrical systems within commercial and/or industrial construction.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Strong understanding of constructability and field installation requirements.
