Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Pediatric Settings

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the direction of an Occupational Therapist to deliver individualized, play-based therapy across two dynamic pediatric settings.

Settings:

Outpatient Pediatric Clinic: Serving children and adolescents up to age 21

Schedule: Part-time

License Requirement: Active COTA license

Your Role in Action

This is a hands-on, highly interactive role where creativity and adaptability are key. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide range of ages and developmental needs across both settings.

In this role, you will:

Provide 1:1 play-based therapy sessions to children with developmental delays, sensory processing needs, autism spectrum disorders, and other diagnoses
Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising OT, focusing on fine motor skills, visual motor integration, sensory regulation, and daily living skills
Use creative, child-led activities (sensory play, crafts, obstacle courses, structured routines) to promote engagement and progress
Support development of self-care skills such as feeding, dressing, grooming, and toileting readiness
Apply sensory integration strategies to improve attention, behavior, and participation
Educate and partner with parents/caregivers to support carryover at home
Monitor progress and communicate updates to the supervising OT
Complete electronic documentation accurately and in a timely manner
Work alongside a multidisciplinary team (OT, PT, SLP) to provide comprehensive care
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment
