Microvellum Engineer

About Us
General Woodworking, Inc. is a custom architectural millwork company specializing in high-end commercial and institutional projects. We produce custom cabinetry, casework, reception desks, wall paneling, laboratory millwork, and other architectural woodwork for contractors, architects, and owners throughout the region.
We are seeking a Microvellum Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate has experience creating production-ready shop drawings, engineering custom millwork, and programming projects for CNC manufacturing using Microvellum within AutoCAD.
Responsibilities
- Engineer custom architectural millwork projects using Microvellum.
- Create detailed shop drawings for fabrication and client approval.
- Generate CNC-ready manufacturing data, cut lists, and material reports.
- Develop assemblies, products, and machining strategies within the Microvellum environment.
- Review architectural drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers, estimators, production, and installation teams.
- Resolve engineering and manufacturing issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain drawing standards and ensure accuracy before production.
- Assist in improving engineering processes and Microvellum libraries.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience using Microvellum in a production environment.
- Strong AutoCAD proficiency.
- Experience engineering custom architectural millwork or cabinetry.
- Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Experience with CNC manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of AWI Standards.
- Experience with commercial millwork.
- Familiarity with ERP or manufacturing software.
- Experience developing or customizing Microvellum libraries.
