Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel cared for and confident in their MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT / CLINICAL SUPPORT

Small nonprofit family practice | Centennial, Colorado
$20–$24/hour | Part-time with opportunity to move quickly to full-time

IMMEDIATE OPENING — PAID WORKING INTERVIEW AVAILABLE

We are a small, busy family practice looking for a dependable, experienced Medical Office Assistant/Clinical Support person who enjoys being part of a hands-on team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in a medical office, veterinary clinic, urgent care, or other fast-paced healthcare setting.

Veterinary technician experience is especially welcome.

We are looking for someone who understands that in a small clinic, everyone contributes to keeping the practice running smoothly. This is a position for someone who is comfortable learning multiple responsibilities, taking initiative, and following tasks through to completion.

What you'll do

Responsibilities include:

Greeting patients and providing excellent in-person customer service
Answering phones and handling patient calls professionally
Patient check-in and check-out
Taking and accurately documenting vital signs
Rooming patients and preparing rooms for visits
Assisting with charting and clinical documentation
Cleaning and stocking exam rooms
Preparing equipment and supplies
Helping maintain an organized, efficient clinic
Performing general administrative and clinical support duties
Helping wherever needed to keep patient care moving

The person we're looking for

The right candidate is:

Reliable and consistently punctual
Experienced in a healthcare, veterinary, or similarly demanding environment
Comfortable with both patient-facing and behind-the-scenes work
Able to learn new tasks quickly and retain training
Detail-oriented and accurate with documentation
Able to work independently without needing constant direction
Comfortable with repetitive tasks as well as unexpected changes
Calm and professional when the clinic gets busy
A strong communicator who works well with coworkers
Willing to take ownership of responsibilities and follow through
Someone who notices what needs to be done and takes initiative rather than waiting to be asked

We value practical experience, reliability, initiative, and a strong work ethic.

You do not need to know everything on day one. You do need to be willing to learn, take direction, work hard, and become increasingly independent.

This is a small practice, so flexibility is important. There will be times when you are answering the phone, rooming a patient, stocking supplies, helping with documentation, or cleaning an exam room. We all pitch in.

Schedule

2–4 weekdays per week, approximately 7:30 AM–5:30 PM

Part-time initially, with the opportunity to move quickly into a full-time position for the right person.

Compensation

$20–$24/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Candidates with relevant healthcare or veterinary experience may be considered at the higher end of the range.

If you are an experienced, dependable person who likes being useful, takes pride in doing things correctly, and enjoys working as part of a small clinical team, we'd like to hear from you.ake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.

Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and basic life support when necessary.
Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical records, ICD coding, and medical documentation.
Support medical office management by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and handling patient inquiries with excellent service skills.
Conduct basic physiology assessments and support specialized areas such as dermatology or geriatrics when needed.
Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards.

Skills

Proven experience in medical office settings with strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
Skilled in using EMR/EHR systems for documentation, order entry, and managing electronic health records efficiently.
Competent in performing phlebotomy, vital signs measurement, ICD coding, and medication administration.
Knowledgeable about inpatient and outpatient care procedures across various specialties like hospital medicine or emergency medicine.
Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with diverse patient populations including geriatrics or PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) patients.
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as urgent care or Level II trauma centers while maintaining attention to detail.
Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent; additional certifications like Level II trauma center experience or emergency medicine are advantageous.
