Manufacturing Production Associate – Career Growth & Training

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a proactive Shop Floor Assistant to join our manufacturing team. This role supports daily operations by assisting with machine setup and operation, conducting basic quality inspections, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring adherence to safety standards. The Shop Floor Assistant plays a critical role in maintaining a smooth workflow, contributing to efficient production processes and a safe working environment.

OBJECTIVES

Safely operate a variety of power tools and hand tools to assist in manufacturing tasks. Support machine setup and adjustment under supervision.
Conduct initial product inspections to uphold quality standards. Report any discrepancies to the quality control team promptly.
Perform routine equipment checks and cleaning tasks under guidance. Assist with scheduled maintenance activities as directed.
Prepare and package finished products in accordance with customer specifications and company standards.
Select appropriate packaging materials to ensure parts are protected during shipping.
Label and organize packaged items accurately for shipment or storage.
Strictly follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE at all times. Monitor equipment for potential safety issues and report concerns promptly.
Manage material supplies, track inventory levels, and minimize waste. Ensure proper handling to prevent damage to materials.
Maintain accurate logs of completed tasks, issues encountered, and maintenance activities. Input operational data into the company's ERP system.
Facilitate communication between production and maintenance teams. Contribute insights on operational challenges and suggest improvements.
Engage in ongoing training to stay updated on new technologies and operational techniques relevant to the shop floor.
Assist in troubleshooting operational issues under supervision. Implement adjustments based on feedback to optimize processes.
Support efforts to meet production deadlines. Propose and help implement approved process improvements to enhance productivity.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Actively participate in professional development and request training as needed to strengthen skills, improve performance, and support long-term growth within the company.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not mandatory.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
Ability to operate machinery and use tools requiring manual dexterity.
Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and temperature changes.
Must follow all OSHA safety requirements and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including any COVID-19-related gear.
