Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines to fabricate parts and components. Your expertise in CNC programming and precision machining will be crucial in ensuring the production of high-quality products.
Duties:
- Set up and operate CNC machines to perform machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, and grinding
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations
- Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to complete each job
- Monitor machine operations to ensure accuracy and quality of parts produced
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to keep them in optimal working condition
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Required Skills:
- 3-4-axis experience is a MUST
- 5-axis experience is a plus, will train if motivated
- Familiarity with a variety of hand tools used in machining processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices
- Proficiency in CAD software for creating or modifying designs
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- MasterCam or SurfCam experience is a plus (min 5 yrs experience)
