Overview
The Front Desk & Family Services Coordinator helps create a warm, organized, and professional experience for every Empower Martial Arts student, parent, prospective member, and guest.
This role is responsible for providing excellent service, maintaining clear communication with families, supporting daily studio operations, and working closely with instructors and team members. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, proactive, organized, and genuinely enjoys helping children and families.
This is more than a traditional receptionist position. The Front Desk & Family Services Coordinator plays an important role in building relationships, supporting student retention, promoting programs and events, and helping maintain the positive culture of Empower Martial Arts.
Responsibilities
- Welcome students, parents, prospective members, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Build positive relationships with families while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Communicate clearly, regularly, and respectfully with students, parents, instructors, and team members.
- Respond promptly to phone calls, emails, messages, questions, and family concerns.
- Keep families informed about schedules, events, studio policies, rank progress, and belt procedures.
- Follow up with prospective members, new students, absent students, and families who may need support.
- Help implement student retention and family engagement efforts.
- Complete front desk and assigned administrative tasks accurately and on time.
- Assist with attendance, registrations, scheduling, payments, account questions, and student records.
- Be knowledgeable about tuition programs, merchandise, upcoming events, and other studio opportunities.
- Educate prospective members about the benefits of Empower Martial Arts.
- Assist with special events, camps, belt testing, and other studio activities.
- Complete opening and closing procedures as assigned.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and appearance of the front desk, lobby, and shared spaces.
- Attend required staff meetings, front desk meetings, and training sessions.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, helpful, and team-oriented workplace culture.
- Be sincere and proactive in your willingness to help others.

- Comfort with email and Google Workspace.
- Experience in customer service, administration, youth programs, education, hospitality, recreation, or another family-focused environment is preferred. Martial arts experience is not required.
Schedule and Expectations
- This is a part-time position, 15-25 hours per week. Must be available on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as 1-2 weekday afternoon/evenings.
- A consistent schedule, dependable attendance, and long-term commitment are strongly preferred.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
