Full Job Description

Overview
Be part of the leadership team of one of the fastest growing restaraunts in Bozeman! We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining a positive and efficient work environment. This position is perfect for individuals with a strong background in food service management and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and presentation.
Be proficient in all line positions and be available to work the line during busy days.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
Manage shift schedules and delegate tasks to ensure all aspects of food production are met.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitation throughout the kitchen.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
Ensure that all food is prepared according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Support catering efforts for special events or functions as required.

Skills

Proven experience in supervising kitchen staff and managing shifts effectively.
Strong knowledge of food production techniques and best practices in a restaurant setting.
Excellent food preparation skills with an eye for detail in presentation.
Familiarity with hospitality principles and customer service excellence.
Experience in food service management, including inventory control and supply ordering.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being capable of independent decision-making.
Knowledge of catering services is a plus, particularly for special events or dietary department needs.
