Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate F.S.S. Coordinator (Family Self-Sufficiency) to empower families on their journey toward independence and stability. In this vital role, you will serve as a dedicated advocate, connecting families with essential resources, guiding them through personal and economic growth, and fostering sustainable self-sufficiency. Your energetic approach will inspire positive change, helping families overcome barriers and achieve their goals through tailored support and community engagement.

Duties: not limited to;

· Implement FSS programs in compliance with HUD regulations, maintain records, and submit required reporting education, job training, health improvement, elderly, disabled, financial capability, life skills, parenting, childcare, youth services, nutrition, etc.

· Monitor escrow accounts, ensuring accurate reporting and disbursement upon successful program completion.

· Work closely with the designated finance person for monitoring and management of FSS participant escrow account.

· Build partnerships with community agencies, employers, and resources to connect families with childcare, training, education, employment and financial literacy workshops.

· Seek and secure supportive services for residents provided by community organizations to curate a diverse range of services, resources, and activities for residents.

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of available services; increase the services available to residents; and better coordinate existing services to help residents meet social, physical, and economic needs.

· Continuously monitor and assess the adequacy of referral agencies in the provision of such services.

· Expected to manage a full-time caseload of at least 25 participants in the program.

· Develop resident groups to promote self-sufficiency efforts and/or encourage clients to build informal support networks with other residents, family, and friends.

· Coordinate and implement annual community events that provide health, family, economic, and educational resources to residents based on community need.

· Perform outreach to public housing residents aimed at increasing participation in coordinated services and activities.

· Track participant progress, manage documentation, and meet HUD reporting deadlines.

· Collect and maintain data that accurately reflects efforts, outputs, and outcomes using agency databases and grant management tools.

· Submit monthly reports to Resident Services Manager and Executive Director depicting progress toward goals, outputs, and outcomes.

· Participate in professional organizations and network with service providers most able to assist in the provision of resources to ensure their greater availability and efficiency.

· Maintain a positive attitude towards assigned work, clients, and staff, and a willingness to work with others.

· Attend grant training and/or workshops related to F.S.S. programing and funding. Effective Grant Writing.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Experience with social work, human services, or related field, plus experience in case management or community service.

· Experience with handling multiple caseloads (multitasking)

· Strong interpersonal skills for client advocacy, conducting workshops, and building community partnerships.

· Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with a variety of people, one-on-one and in small groups.

· Working knowledge of the rules and requirements of the public housing program or ability to achieve such knowledge quickly.

· Ability to enter and report data into multiple systems/software designs

· Ability to perform arithmetic calculations accurately.

· Knowledge of basic office procedures such as follow-up, being organized and confidentiality

· Familiarity with HUD regulations, local community resources, and financial empowerment strategies.

· Familiar with Grant Writing

· Must maintain a valid Michigan Driver's license

· Ability to provide information to enable IHC to complete the required HUD reporting for the F.S.S. grant

Pay: $20.00 per hour
