VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: Curriculum Coordinator LOCATION: Education Administration Center

SALARY: ABSASP Salary Schedule POSTING DATE: July 27, 2026

SCHEDULE: Full time, 11 Month Position DEADLINE: Until Filled/Start Date Negotiable

The Student Learning and Inclusion Department partners with schools to build educator capacity, improve instructional
practice, and ensure every student experiences high-quality learning. The Curriculum Coordinator is a pivotal member of
the Student Learning and Inclusion team, committed to advancing high-quality teaching and learning across the District.
Curriculum Coordinators serve as districtwide instructional leaders who work collaboratively to support
the District's instructional vision. All Curriculum Coordinators share responsibility for leading professional development,
instructional coaching, Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), continuous improvement, and the implementation of
district priorities. In addition, each Curriculum Coordinator is assigned leadership responsibilities for specific grade
levels, core content areas, instructional programs, or district initiatives based on organizational needs, district priorities,
and individual expertise. Together, the Curriculum Coordinator team is collectively responsible for ensuring the
successful implementation of the District's instructional program.

Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities below are organized into two categories. All Curriculum Coordinators share responsibility for
advancing the District's instructional vision, building educator capacity, and supporting continuous improvement across
all schools. In addition, each Curriculum Coordinator is assigned specific leadership portfolios based on district priorities,
organizational needs, and individual expertise. Together, these shared and assigned responsibilities ensure
comprehensive support for the District's instructional program.

Shared Responsibilities of All Curriculum Coordinators

Professional Development & Instructional Coaching

Design and implement the districtwide professional development plan.
Work with various departments and consultants to incorporate the latest teaching methodologies and high-

quality instructional materials.
MTSS, Strategic Leadership & Continuous Improvement

Lead and support implementation of the District's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
Inspire and guide district-wide initiatives, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
Collaborate with other coordinators to develop data-driven strategies and assessments.
Manage strategic plan priorities, including action planning, curriculum review, and

professional development.

Partner with administrators to implement effective strategies and ensure clear communication across the

district.

Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, Board policy, and district procedures.
Prepare reports and presentations for district leadership and the Board of Education.
Lead various committees.

Culture of Collaboration & Student Well-Being

Promote community building through restorative practices.
Foster a positive and inclusive school culture based on the 11 Principles of Character.org and the CASEL

SEL standards.

Collaborate with educators to integrate social-emotional learning into daily practices, ensuring a

supportive environment for all students.

Partner with school leaders and staff to implement proactive practices that prevent and effectively

respond to incidents of bullying, harassment, hate, and bias while promoting student safety, belonging,
and inclusion.

Assigned Leadership Responsibilities

Curriculum, Instruction & Program Leadership

Lead curriculum and instruction across core content areas and grade bands to elevate academic

achievement.

Coordinate curriculum review, instructional material selection, and continuous program evaluation.
Execute strategic district initiatives and specialized instructional programs tailored to organizational

goals.

Administer state and federal programs to ensure compliance and strategic resource allocation.
Manage the district’s balanced assessment framework, aligning state and local data to classroom

instruction.
Professional Development & Program Support

Develop and facilitate professional development opportunities, including academic coaching and job-

embedded PD for assigned areas.

Provide programmatic leadership, coordination, and support to Teaching and Learning Specialists and

Academic Interventionists.

Provide programmatic leadership and support to Unified Arts, ELD, and other assigned facilitators.

Specialized Programs & Operations

Coordinate College and Career Readiness and Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming,

including grants, compliance, and reporting.

Provide leadership for comprehensive K–12 School Counseling.
Manage assigned budgets, grants, contracts, and reporting requirements for assigned areas.
Support the finance department with managing state and federal programs.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Student Learning and Inclusion.

Qualifications: The candidate selected for this assignment will be the one who offers the best combination of qualities
in accordance with the following standards and requirements:
Minimum:

Bachelor’s degree in education.
Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, or related field.
Valid Michigan teaching certificate.
Valid Michigan School Administrator Certificate or eligibility to obtain one.

Preferred:

Five years of experience in educational leadership
Expertise in promoting and supporting the development of high yield instruction.
Proven leadership in curriculum development, assessment systems, and instructional practices.
Knowledge of Michigan State Standards.
Experience supporting Health Education curriculum.
Minimum of three years of experience in Career and Technical Education or administration of CTE

programs.
Personal Skills:

Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and experience facilitating professional development.
Effective project management skills, with a proven ability to implement concepts from design to execution.

This job requires a high level of adaptability, and the ability to handle and balance multiple demands concurrently.

Salary and Benefits: Appropriate placement on ABSASP Curriculum Coordinator Salary Schedule in accordance with
