Full Job Description

Overview
Our firm is seeking a polished, highly organized, and exceptionally detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support a sophisticated litigation practice. The position involves direct support for attorneys handling Serious Personal Injury, Business Litigation, Civil Litigation, White Collar Investigation, and Appeals. The successful candidate will bring professionalism, discretion, sound judgment, and a strong service orientation to a boutique firm environment where precision, responsiveness, and excellence are expected. This is an opportunity to play an important role in complex, high-stakes matters while working closely with experienced attorneys and a collaborative legal team.

Duties

· Maintain sophisticated physical and electronic case files, including pleadings, correspondence, discovery materials, exhibits, research, and matter-related records.

· Assist attorneys with the preparation, transcription, formatting, proofreading, organization, and filing of pleadings, motions, affidavits, correspondence, briefs and other litigation documents.

· Manage attorney calendars, court deadlines, client meetings, appointments, and follow-up items with a high degree of accuracy and attention to priority.

· Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, vendors, and other outside parties in a professional and discreet manner.

· Assist with document review, matter organization, data entry, and preparation of materials for client meetings, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial-related proceedings.

· Support client and witness intake by gathering relevant information, organizing materials, and maintaining complete and accurate records.

· Provide thoughtful administrative and operational support to ensure the firm’s matters, workflows, and client service standards are maintained at a high level.

Requirements

· Prior experience as a legal assistant or legal administrative professional in a law firm or comparable legal setting.

· Experience with, or a strong interest in, sophisticated litigation matters, including personal injury, business disputes, civil litigation, white collar investigations, and appeals.

· Proficiency in Word, MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint or similar programs.

· Experience with legal case-management and document-management systems such as iManage or Clio is preferred.

· Excellent written communication, proofreading, transcription, and document-formatting skills, with a demonstrated commitment to accuracy and presentation.

· Strong organizational judgment, time-management skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven litigation environment.

· Proficiency with document review, file management, and accurate data entry.

· Professional verbal communication skills, sound judgment, discretion, and polished phone and email etiquette.

· Ability to work independently, protect confidential information, and collaborate effectively with attorneys, staff, clients, and outside professionals.
