Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist-Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating advanced CNC machines to produce precision metal components. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint interpretation, and machining processes will ensure the highest quality standards are met while maintaining efficient production workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment and contribute to innovative manufacturing solutions.

Duties

Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing)
Set up CNC machines including lathes, milling machines (including 5-axis CNC machines), and CNC machining centers with appropriate tooling and fixtures.
Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to ensure precise part fabrication.
Operate CNC equipment like CNC lathes, mills, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) machines to produce complex parts with tight tolerances.
Perform precision measurements using calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools to verify part accuracy.
Conduct tooling changes, machine calibrations, and quality checks to maintain optimal machining conditions.
Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity.
Troubleshoot machine issues related to geometry, tooling, or programming errors; adjust programs as needed for continuous improvement.
Maintain detailed documentation of machine setups, programs, inspection reports, and process adjustments in compliance with quality standards.

Experience

Proven experience as a CNC machinist or programmer working with CNC milling machines (including 5-axis) and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
Strong proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controls is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings accurately.
Knowledge of CAD software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD for designing parts or modifying existing models; experience with CAM software for toolpath generation is essential.
Familiarity with GD&T principles for precision measurement and quality control in manufacturing processes.
Mechanical knowledge related to metal machining processes including electrical discharge machining (EDM), tooling setup, and machining tool selection.
Understanding of lean manufacturing practices to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
Ability to operate measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measurement tools effectively.
Strong math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, speeds, feeds, and other machining parameters.
