Logan River Academy is a dedicated youth residential treatment center that provides a safe and supportive environment for teens aged 12 to 18 facing various social and behavioral challenges. The academy specializes in helping students with personality disorders, substance abuse issues, defiance, autism spectrum disorders, and other related difficulties, fostering personal growth and family healing.

Overview
We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Youth Counselor to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will work directly with adolescents to promote positive behavioral change, provide mentorship, and support their emotional well-being. Your dedication will help shape a brighter future for each student by implementing individualized treatment plans and creating a nurturing environment that encourages growth. Duties

Engage with students through mentoring, conflict management, and supportive communication to foster trust and positive relationships
Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs and goals
Provide supervision during daily activities, including educational sessions, recreational activities, and therapy groups
Support students with behavioral health challenges by applying effective behavioral management techniques
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, therapists, and educators to ensure comprehensive care
Document student progress accurately and maintain detailed records of daily interactions and incidents
Facilitate a safe environment by monitoring student behavior and intervening appropriately when conflicts arise

Experience

Prior experience working with children or adolescents in educational, childcare, or behavioral health settings is highly preferred
Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities enhances your effectiveness in this role
Demonstrated skills in conflict management, mentoring, and social work are essential for success
Experience in child welfare or teaching can provide valuable insights into supporting youth development
Strong communication skills combined with patience, empathy, and the ability to handle challenging situations are crucial for this position

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
