General Description:
The Community Engagement Coordinator is a vital team member responsible for building, growing, and maintaining trusting community relationships across Cache, Rich, and Franklin Counties. This role serves as a bridge between The Family Place and the communities it serves, acting as a public face for the organization and helping individuals and families connect with services, resources, and community partners.
The Community Engagement Coordinator is a part-time position in our Administration Department. This position requires a flexible schedule tailored to community and seasonal organization needs. The standard workload is 20-25 hours per week, with the schedule scaling up to 40 hours per week during peak event weeks.
Duties Synopsis:
This position is responsible for increasing awareness of The Family Place and its services, developing strong community and referral relationships, representing the organization at community events and collaborative meetings, and supporting the planning and execution of organization-hosted events.
- Community Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with schools, healthcare providers, child welfare agencies, behavioral health organizations, victim service providers, faith-based organizations, employers, and other community partners.
- Referral Development: Strengthen referral relationships and help community partners understand The Family Place services, eligibility, referral processes, and available resources.
- Community Events & Presentations: Coordinate and participate in community presentations, health fairs, resource fairs, conferences, school functions, PTO meetings, coalition meetings, outreach booths, parades, and other public outreach opportunities.
- Event Coordination Support: Contribute to the planning, logistics, and execution of organization-hosted events and major fundraisers, including timelines, vendors, event setup, promotional materials, and day-of operations.
- Service Promotion: Educate the public about The Family Place services, including therapy, parenting education, home visiting, mental health training opportunities, and respite/emergency childcare through Kid’s Place.
- Targeted Outreach: Coordinate outreach activities that increase access to services for underserved and rural communities throughout the organization’s service area.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, Human Services, Public Health, Social Work, or related).
- Experience in community outreach, partnership development, coalition building, event coordination, public education, or child and family services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Strong public speaking, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly collaborative working style with demonstrated experience as an organizer, planner, and coordinator.
- Strong attention to detail with proven project management and logistical support skills.
- Excellent time management capabilities and the ability to balance ongoing outreach responsibilities with peak event seasons.
- Flexible schedule with evening and Saturday availability required to accommodate community events and organizational activities.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (may be obtained after hire).
- Food Handler’s Permit (may be obtained after hire).
- Passing score on an annual Background Investigation.
