Full Job Description

Bearnson & Caldwell seeks a full-time (M-F, 8-5) Legal Assistant. We are looking for an organized, motivated, and detail-oriented person with strong administrative skills and a willingness to learn. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in building a long-term career in the legal field. If this sounds like you, we want you to join our team!

As a Legal Assistant, you will work closely with clients, attorneys, and other members of our team to help keep cases and the office running smoothly.

Responsibilities may include:

Communicating directly with attorneys, clients, and the courts;
Assisting with the drafting, organization, and filing of legal documents;
Requesting and maintaining records and other case-related documents;
Scheduling case tasks, appointments, hearings, and other deadlines;
Maintaining accurate notes, records, and case information;
Learning and following legal procedures, firm policies, and confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications:

Previous experience working in a legal, office, medical, or administrative setting;
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines without losing track of important details;
Willingness to learn new software, processes, and procedures;
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Professional, dependable, and able to maintain confidentiality;
Ability to recognize when help is needed, ask questions, and accept and apply constructive feedback;
Interest in learning the legal field and developing new skills;
Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment;
Spanish speaking preferred but not required.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
