Funds Attorney – AI Trainer

Job Summary

We are looking for experienced Funds Attorneys to support AI training and evaluation by contributing real-world expertise in private funds law, fund formation, and legal contract review. In this role, you will help improve next-generation AI systems by applying your knowledge of drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and redlining complex fund-related legal agreements.

This is an hourly-paid contract opportunity, not a traditional legal practice role. Contributors will complete project-based AI training and evaluation tasks that help AI models better understand legal reasoning, contract interpretation, risk assessment, and transactional drafting in the funds and investment management space.

No prior AI experience is required. What matters most is your legal expertise, analytical judgment, and ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to AI training, benchmarking, and evaluation projects involving private funds and investment management legal scenarios.
Perform simulated contract negotiations and redlining exercises involving fund-related agreements.
Review and assess AI-generated responses to legal contract scenarios, providing expert feedback to improve model accuracy and legal reasoning.
Develop objective evaluation frameworks and grading criteria for AI performance on contract drafting, negotiation, and review tasks.
Analyze legal risks, contractual provisions, and negotiation strategies across a variety of private fund agreements.
Document legal reasoning, contract interpretations, and best practices with clear and well-structured written explanations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary product and research teams to refine AI training data, evaluation standards, and legal workflows.

Required Skills and Qualifications

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Funds department of a corporate law firm.
Experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, or advising on private fund documentation, including Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs), Subscription Agreements, and Side Letters.
Strong understanding of private funds, investment structures, and fund formation transactions.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex legal concepts into structured, actionable feedback.
Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with AI, legal technology, legal operations, or AI training initiatives.
Experience advising private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, or other investment fund sponsors.
Background collaborating with cross-functional teams in fast-paced legal or technology environments.
Interest in applying legal expertise to emerging AI technologies.
