Electrical Design Drafter | Logan, UT
Nexeo Staffing is seeking an Electrical Designer / Senior Electrical Designer for a full-time, on-site opportunity in Logan, UT. We are looking for a detail-oriented designer with experience creating electrical schematics, control panel layouts, instrumentation drawings, and industrial control system documentation. In this role, you will work closely with engineers and project teams to develop complete drawing packages using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, ensuring designs meet industry standards and project specifications. Responsibilities

Develop detailed electrical and instrumentation design packages for industrial automation and process control systems.

Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, single-line and three-line diagrams, P&IDs, loop drawings, and instrumentation documentation.

Design control panels and electrical enclosures, including component selection, equipment layout, wire routing, and bill of materials development.

Utilize AutoCAD and SolidWorks to produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D models that support manufacturing and installation requirements.

Generate cable schedules, terminal block layouts, wire numbering systems, connection lists, and other project documentation.

Ensure all designs comply with applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and customer specifications, including NEC, NFPA, UL, ISA, and IEC requirements.

Collaborate with engineers, project managers, fabrication teams, and field personnel throughout the design and implementation process.

Review project requirements, vendor documentation, and field data to verify design accuracy and functionality.

Incorporate drawing revisions, manage redlines, and maintain revision control throughout the project lifecycle.

Support the successful execution of custom industrial automation projects from concept development through final release.

Troubleshoot design challenges and provide practical solutions that improve system performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

Maintain organized project files, design records, and technical documentation in accordance with company standards.

Occasionally visit manufacturing facilities, project sites, or shop environments to verify installations, gather field measurements, and support project execution.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Relevant electrical design, drafting, or industrial controls experience

Proficiency with AutoCAD for electrical drafting

SolidWorks design experience

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings

Understanding of wiring, instrumentation, control systems, and industrial electrical standards

Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings

Ability to communicate effectively with engineering, project management, shop, and field teams

Preferred:

Associate degree or technical certification in electrical, drafting, or CAD

Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and/or SolidWorks Electrical

Familiarity with PLC/HMI systems and process control hardware

Panel-building or field experience in an industrial environment
Pay
$22.00–$35.00 per hour
Schedule
Full Time | Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
