Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and technically-minded Project Manager to orchestrate our manufacturing operations from concept to delivery. This is not your typical project management role, we're looking for someone who speaks the language of the shop floor. Whether you have a background in mechanical engineering, machining, or hands-on manufacturing experience, your technical knowledge will be your greatest asset in bridging the gap between design, production, and delivery. You'll be the central coordinator ensuring projects run smoothly, deadlines are met, and our team operates at peak efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor & Supply Chain Management: Source, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships. Acquire quotes and ensure timely procurement of materials and services.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Machining, Quality Control, and other departments to ensure seamless project execution and communication.
Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, coordinate with purchasing, and ensure materials are available when needed without excess.
Timeline & Deadline Management: Manage critical project timelines, anticipate bottlenecks, and proactively solve problems to keep projects on track.
Shipping & Receiving Coordination: Oversee logistics for incoming materials and outgoing finished products, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Self-Management: Operate independently with minimal supervision, taking initiative to identify and resolve issues before they become problems.

While traditional project management experience is valuable, we believe that a background in mechanical engineering or machining gives you a distinct advantage. If you've worked on a shop floor, understand technical drawings, or have designed parts that actually get made, you'll bring a level of insight and credibility that's hard to replicate.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of project management or manufacturing coordination experience required. 10-15 years of progressive experience is strongly preferred.
Technical Background (Preferred): Experience in mechanical engineering, machining, or hands-on manufacturing is highly valued and will set you apart.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field is preferred but not required. Relevant hands-on experience and proven results will be given equal consideration.
Core Competencies:
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Proven problem-solver who can juggle multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to read technical drawings and understand manufacturing constraints (preferred)
Proficiency with project management tools and inventory systems
Work Style: Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and doesn't need to be micromanaged.
