About Triad Magnetics

Triad Magnetics is a leading manufacturer of transformers, inductors, chokes, current sensors, and custom magnetic components serving industrial, medical, aerospace, defense, transportation, and commercial markets worldwide. We partner with manufacturing facilities throughout Asia and provide technical support to customers throughout North America. Quality is a critical part of our business, and we are seeking a Quality Manager who can serve as the link between our customers, engineering team, operations, and overseas manufacturing partners.

Position Summary

The Senior Quality Manager is responsible for leading Triad's Quality organization, serving as the primary quality interface between customers, suppliers, engineering, and operations. This position has full ownership of Triad's ISO 9001 Quality Management System while leading customer quality activities, supplier quality initiatives, corrective actions, failure investigations, and continuous improvement efforts.

This is not a compliance-only position. The successful candidate must be comfortable working directly with electronic and electromechanical products, investigating failures, interpreting test results, supporting customer audits, and collaborating with overseas manufacturing partners to resolve quality issues. The Quality Manager will supervise Triad's quality staff and work closely with Engineering, Production, Fulfillment, Sales, and Supplier Management.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Quality Management

Serve as Triad's primary quality contact for customer complaints, RMAs, audits, and corrective actions
Lead customer-facing quality investigations and communicate findings effectively
Coordinate quality communications between customers, engineering, operations, and manufacturing partners
Host customer audits and support customer visits to manufacturing facilities
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through timely and professional issue resolution

Quality Management System

Own and maintain Triad's ISO 9001 Quality Management System
Lead internal audits, Management Reviews, and external audits
Maintain procedures, records, and document control processes
Ensure CAPA systems are effective and properly maintained
Support future AS9100 implementation efforts where required

Product Quality

Oversee Incoming Quality Control (IQC), Outgoing Quality Control (OQC), and nonconforming material processes
Review and approve DMRs, rework, scrap, and disposition activities
Ensure inspection methods and acceptance criteria are appropriate and effective
Verify Certificates of Compliance and quality records

Failure Analysis & Corrective Action

Lead or participate in investigations involving RMAs, customer returns, field failures, and supplier quality issues
Conduct root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies
Author, review, and close Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and CAPAs
Verify effectiveness of corrective actions and prevent recurrence

Supplier Quality

Serve as the primary quality contact for domestic and overseas suppliers
Manage supplier corrective actions and quality improvement initiatives
Monitor supplier performance metrics and quality trends
Support supplier audits and supplier development activities
Work effectively across language, cultural, and time-zone differences

Continuous Improvement

Drive quality improvements using PDCA, Lean, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement principles
Analyze quality data and identify improvement opportunities
Reduce defects, escapes, supplier issues, and cost of poor quality
Build a culture focused on prevention rather than inspection

Required Qualifications

7+ years of experience in Quality Management or Quality Engineering
Experience in electronics, electromechanical, magnetic, power conversion, aerospace electronics, or similar technical manufacturing environments
Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001
Experience with CAPA, CAR, root cause analysis, and failure investigations
Experience with supplier quality management
Experience working directly with customers to resolve quality issues
Experience supporting internal and external audits
Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and test data
Strong communication and leadership skills

Technical Requirements

Experience performing, supervising, validating, or interpreting electrical and mechanical testing
Ability to understand electrical and electromechanical failure modes
Familiarity with test equipment such as:
Digital Multimeters (DMMs)
LCR Meters
Hipot Testers
Oscilloscopes
Insulation Resistance Testers
Power Analyzers
Dimensional Inspection Equipment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with transformers, inductors, magnetics, power supplies, or power electronics
Experience working with Asian contract manufacturers
Experience hosting customer audits or factory visits
AS9100 experience
ASQ Certification (CQE, CQA, CQM, CQT)
Lean or Six Sigma training
Familiarity with RoHS and REACH compliance requirements

Travel

Occasional domestic and international travel may be required, including visits to suppliers and manufacturing partners in Asia.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
