Full Job Description

What You'll Do

Manage general ledger accounting activities and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records for PLC and all properties under management.
Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies.
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
Analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and provide recommendations to management.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting initiatives.
Maintain fixed asset schedules, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other key balance sheet accounts.
Partner with cross-functional departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and improve business processes.
Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, automate workflows, and enhance reporting efficiency.
Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience managing month-end close and general ledger accounting.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Preferred

AA degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience working in a multi-entity environment.
Experience with ERP or cloud-based accounting systems.
Public accounting experience and/or CPA designation is a plus.
Experience supporting audits and maintaining internal controls.
Familiarity with process improvement initiatives and system implementations.
