At Merrimack Health, we are committed to pay transparency and equity. The base salary range is $380,000—$520,000 annually, excluding fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
Your final base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, licensure, and internal equity considerations. Offers are typically made below the top of the range to support future salary growth.
Position Overview:
Merrimack Health is seeking a Non-Invasive Cardiologist to be responsible for the operational management of the Non-Invasive Cardiology Service Line and the Hospital’s Outpatient Physician Practices. S/he serves to assure an exceptional patient experience, promote an effective work environment, and champions exemplary teamwork and collaboration among providers, staff, and community leaders including physicians/surgeons. The Physician is responsible for partnering with the Merrimack Health Leadership team and the Director, Cardiovascular Services to implement processes and achieve outcomes as they relate to the effective performance of the Non-Invasive Cardiology Service Line.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive cardiovascular care in the outpatient clinic and hospital, including consultations, follow-up visits, inpatient rounding, and call coverage.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular diseases using evidence-based medical practices.
- Order, perform (as credentialed), and interpret cardiovascular diagnostic tests and imaging to develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage medications and other cardiovascular therapies while monitoring patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with primary care providers, Advanced Practice Providers, specialists, and hospital staff to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Educate patients and families on cardiovascular disease prevention, treatment options, medications, and lifestyle modification.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation within the electronic health record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical program development, and population health activities to enhance patient outcomes.
- Supervise and mentor Advanced Practice Providers and other clinical learners, as applicable.
- Participate in departmental meetings, continuing medical education, and medical staff activities while maintaining all required licensure, certifications, and hospital privileges.
- Support the growth and strategic initiatives of the Cardiology service line.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Cardiology or designee
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of US Residency & Fellowship
- Board certified or board eligible in Cardiology required
- Current Massachusetts state medical license and DEA registration.
- Demonstrated clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, and effective communication skills
