Full Job Description

Job Summary: The Chief Lending Officer (CLO) serves as a senior level executive working with the CEO, President, Executive team and Board of Directors to develop the strategic vision of TSF. The CLO leads and directs the organization’s lending operations, as well as outbound efforts within the Christian Non-denominational and Restoration movement churches. The role will ensure alignment of policies with TSF’s goals and objectives, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation while partnering with pastors and university heads as a trusted advisor providing found financial direction. The CLO is pivotal in ensuring TSF’s lending program achieves growth and profitability goals while maintaining the highest level of credit quality and regulatory compliance. The CLO plays a role in managing day-to-day office operations of the loan team, and is in charge of the credit function as well effectively bridging the gap between churches, universities and TSF.

**We are a 501c3 Church Extension fund, so our clients will be Christian Churches within the Restoration Movement.

**You must be a current member of a local non-denominational Christian Church or Church of Christ.

Reports to: CEO; member of Executive Team.

Supervisory Responsibility: VP of Lending, Senior Underwriting Staff, Lending Operations

Travel Responsibilities: This position requires regular travel, including overnight and multi-day trips to support the organization’s overall needs for lending, pastoral support and project overview.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic leadership

Develop and implement lending strategy in alignment with company objectives.
Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth and innovation in lending products and strategy.

Business Development/Sales

Grow TSF's investments and loan portfolios through relationship-driven business development
Raise deposits by engaging individuals, families, business owners, and churches in TSF's investment offerings

Operational Oversight

Oversee lending process from credit application through loan servicing, and construction draw management.
Direct the management of problem assets and the forecloser/DIL process.
Manages day-to-day organization operations, along with other key executive staff, to ensure optimal productivity and a collaborative environment.

Team Development

Lead, mentor and develop the lending and Real Estate teams to foster a high-performance culture.
Conduct regular training and development programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.

Risk Management

Designs robust Credit and REO policies and procedures to safeguard organization’s assets.
Assess and mitigate global risk for lending and real estate activities.

Customer Engagement:

Build relationships with internal and external investors to ensure appropriate funding viability for loan portfolio. This is inclusive of some travel and being in front of churches and universities that TSF serves.
Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including regulatory agencies, inter-industry organizations, auditors, clients and vendors.

Performance Analysis

Design key performance indicators and goals to achieve desired financial results.
Monitor and report on lending performance and REO portfolio performance to the TSF Board of Directors.
Use data- driven insights to drive decision making and continuous improvement in operations.

Customer Focus

Champion a customer centric approach in lending and real estate activities, ensuring a seamless experience.
Gather and analyze customer feedback to improve lending and real estate products and services.
Be a support service to pastors with a focus on helping them understand the risks of expansion, while considering the faith factor in church growth.

Daily Decision Making:

· Voting member of Staff Loan Committee for loans up to $7M.

· Voting member of Real Estate Approval Committee for all capital improvement projects.

· Waiver of loan requirements or changes to terms after approval.

Financial Authority:

· Authorized to sign all commitments to lend, participation agreements, releases of mortgages.

· Authorized to approve all corporate real estate contracts, deeds, and transactions documents for the transfer or sale of real property.

· Authorized to approve all third-party software agreements

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Real Estate Management or a related field; master’s degree preferred.

· Minimum of 8 years of experience in senior lending role, with a proven track record of success in lending operations, real estate operations and team leadership.

· Strong knowledge of NASAA lending regulations and compliance requirements.

· Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.

· Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including excellence in public speaking to represent and endorse TSF at industry events and forums.

Spiritual:

· Clear understanding of the Restoration Movement and in agreement with such movement.

· Current member of a non-denominational Christian Church or Church of Christ that is part of the Restoration Movement.

Physical Requirements:

· In office during regular business hours.

· Sit or stand (stand up desk) in the same area for long periods of time, being on a computer most of the day, answering the phone, ability to type 35wpm+.
