Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated X-ray Technician/Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and imaging techniques, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

X-Ray Duties
- Perform X-ray examinations on patients as directed by physicians, ensuring accurate positioning and technique.
- Maintain and operate X-ray equipment, performing routine checks and troubleshooting as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations to protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care in an Urgent Care setting.
- Document patient information accurately in medical records, including details of procedures performed and any relevant observations.
- Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques, including CT scans and PET scans.

Medical Assistant Duties

- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Take and record vital signs accurately.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with X-Ray procedures when necessary.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including coding for billing purposes.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the clinic or office environment.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians or nursing staff.
- Manage patient flow within the clinic to optimize efficiency.
- Provide education to patients regarding treatment plans and health maintenance.
- Assist in outpatient or inpatient settings as needed.

Experience
- Proven experience in diagnostic radiology or medical imaging is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to radiology, emergency medicine, and urgent care settings is essential.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety.

Licensing Requirement X-Ray Tech:

- Current valid State of California Licensure as a Radiology Technologist with Fluoroscopy.
- A.R.R.T. (preferred)
- Current BCLS certification (AHA required)

Qualifications for Medical Assistant:

- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assisting program is preferred.

-Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is advantageous.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

- Able to perform EKG's, venipuncture and laboratory specimen processing.

Skills
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and performing basic clinical tasks.
- Familiarity with urgent care or emergency medicine protocols is advantageous.
- Ability to perform well in clinic and emergency setting.
- Strong coding skills for accurate medical record keeping.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
