Full Job Description

Ready to turn cultural moments into LEGO moments? As Head of Celebrity Talent & Brand First Partnerships, you'll identify the talent, trends, and partnerships that help bring the LEGO brand to life in new and exciting ways, creating collaborations that inspire fans and make a global impact.

Core responsibilities

Celebrity Talent:

Secure mutual value creating talent agreements for global campaigns and key entertainment projects, across all LEGO Group usage of ‘celebrity talent’ working closely with key stakeholders in Our LEGO Agency, Global Programming, Entertainment Partners & Content, Product Group, Markets & Channels

Implement Global Talent strategy and drive continuous evolution and learnings to adapt to evolving dynamics
Drive process with WME (TLG’s Talent Agency), throughout negotiations and approvals and establish positive relationships with talent representation
Co-Chair global talent forum and create transparency across the company on where and how talent is being utilized

Maintain Talent database and drive structured outreach while systematically maintaining relationships with established talent partners proactively explore future talent partnership opportunities
Track cultural and entertainment trends to provide creative insight/guidance around talent targeting

Brand First Partnerships (eg. partnerships that are outside of licensed or product collaborations, that are focused on amplifying the LEGO brand globally):

Identify strategic opportunities for potential brand first partnerships based on relevant audience trends and insights, as well as incoming briefs from Global Brand Development (GBD)
Field partnership inquiries and evaluate appeal and potential, based on in-depth understanding of TLG strategic objectives
Facilitate deeper partnership explorations with Global Brand and based on input and level of interest from key internal stakeholders
Negotiate mutual value creating agreements, aligning key stakeholders both internal and external
Serve as ‘Partner Manager’ once agreements are secured working closely with Global Brand Development (GBD).

The LEGO Entertainment Partners and Content (EPC) team drives development, production, distribution of all LEGO entertainment globally while also building best in class relationships within the global entertainment & licensing community.

Reporting into the SVP LEGO Entertainment Content & Partnerships, the Head of Celebrity Talent and Brand First Partnerships will play a key role across the global marketing function providing thought leadership and strategic input & savvy negotiation skills to all things related to the utilization of celebrities. They will proactively identify opportunities and act as both a facilitator and strategic sparring partner with internal marketing/OLA and EPC teams, on talent related issues; as well as drive innovation in how we identify, secure and execute innovative mutual value adding brand first collaborations (separate/outside of from licensing partnerships).

Do you have what it takes?

Extensive hands-on experience working with celebrity talent agreements and strong understanding and knowledge of entertainment industry
Promotional Partnership or Brand Marketing experience
Sr. Level partner/relationship management experience
Proven negotiation skills
Ability to identify relevant trends and commercially viable opportunities
Ability to work proactively and independently
Well-developed network and ability to forge and foster positive and long-lasting relationships

This is a Director level role based in our Los Angeles office.

Compensation

The salary for this position has a range of $169,031.00 - $253,547.00 based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalisation of the employment offer.
