Full Job Description

Overview

Join our compassionate team as a Caregiver and make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors. You'll provide hands-on personal care, assist with daily activities (ADLs), and help clients live safely and comfortably in their own homes. If you're caring, dependable, and passionate about helping others, we'd love to have you on our team.

Duties

Assist clietns with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques.
Observe and document patient conditions accurately, including vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Support medication administration under supervision, following care plans and safety protocols to ensure proper dosage and timing.
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary.
Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks in residents’ rooms and common areas in accordance with health standards.
Provide emotional support through active communication, companionship, and engagement to enhance residents’ mental well-being.
Assist with transportation to medical appointments or community activities using personal or agency-provided transportation methods.
Follow all safety procedures during patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident transfer techniques to prevent injury.
Support residents with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia by implementing specialized memory care strategies and monitoring for safety concerns.
Participate in care plan updates and communicate effectively with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to ensure comprehensive resident care.

Experience

Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to perform client observation and monitor vital signs accurately.
Experience with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care or neurodevelopmental disorders enhances your ability to provide specialized support.
Hands-on experience with manual handling techniques such as patient transfers using Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices is essential.
Familiarity with medication administration procedures following prescribed care plans is advantageous.
Home health or home & community care experience demonstrates adaptability across various settings.
Strong communication skills enable effective client interaction while maintaining professionalism and empathy throughout caregiving duties.
