Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Chef de Cuisine to join our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role is at the heart of our food operation, requiring a visionary leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-standard environment. As Chef de Cuisine, you will work directly under the Executive Chef who has many years experience running high end kitchens and comes to us with a Michelin star background. The Chef de Cuisine will oversee all aspects of kitchen management, from menu development and food preparation to ensuring the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. Your expertise will inspire your team to create memorable dishes that delight our guests and uphold our reputation for excellence. This is opportunity is best suited for a seasoned culinary professional eager to showcase their leadership, creativity, and operational skills in a fine dining or upscale hospitality setting. Our establishment has already built a well received breakfast and lunch program and will be working to expand our current dinner service with this position.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise all kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality food production.
Develop innovative menus that align with brand standards, seasonal ingredients, and guest preferences.
Oversee food preparation, presentation, and tasting to maintain exceptional quality and consistency.
Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs.
Enforce strict food safety sanitizing procedures and uphold compliance with health regulations.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on continuous improvement.
Coordinate catering events and private dining services, ensuring seamless execution from setup to service.
Monitor shift management, scheduling staff efficiently to meet operational demands while maintaining labor costs.
Implement cost control measures without compromising quality or guest satisfaction.
Maintain open communication with front-of-house teams to ensure excellent service delivery.

Qualifications

Proven experience in fine dining establishments or upscale hospitality environments with a strong culinary background.
Extensive private event experience and catering knowledge are highly desirable.
Demonstrated supervising experience with a track record of managing successful kitchen teams.
Strong background in food production, menu planning, and kitchen management practices.
Knowledge of inventory management, food safety sanitizing procedures, and cost control strategies.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff effectively.
Familiarity with restaurant management systems and inventory control tools.
Passion for culinary arts combined with excellent food handling and serving skills.
Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of hospitality excellence.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
Ability to verbally communicate and hear.
Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen setting.
Exposure to cold, heat, sharp equipment, and loud noise levels.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
