Job Overview

Pier Village is seeking a creative, energetic, and highly organized Social Media, Marketing & Brand Activation Manager to oversee marketing, branding, social media, public relations, and experiential activations across the full Pier Village ecosystem.

This person will be responsible for creating and executing a cohesive marketing strategy that drives traffic, builds brand awareness, supports tenant engagement, promotes events, and positions Pier Village as one of the premier lifestyle, dining, entertainment, hospitality, and beachfront destinations in New Jersey.

The role will oversee marketing efforts across multiple brands and venues, including Pier Village, Wave Resort, The Bungalow Hotel, Pier Pins, Boardwalk Arcade, and PV Mini Golf.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how to bring a destination to life through social media, events, content, partnerships, PR, and on-site activations.

Responsibilities:

Social Media & Content

Manage and grow the social media presence for Pier Village and related brands, including Wave, Bungalow, Pier Pins, Boardwalk Arcade, and PV Mini Golf.
Develop and maintain a social media calendar across all relevant platforms.
Create engaging photo, video, reel, story, and short-form content.
Capture on-site content during events, weekends, holidays, tenant promotions, and seasonal activations.
Coordinate professional photo and video shoots as needed.
Ensure each brand has a distinct voice while still fitting within the broader Pier Village identity.
Monitor comments, messages, reviews, tags, and user-generated content.
Work with influencers, local creators, photographers, and videographers.
Track performance and make recommendations based on engagement, reach, traffic, and conversion.

Marketing & Brand Strategy: Lead the day-to-day marketing strategy for Pier Village as a destination, while also supporting the individual brands within the property.

Build seasonal marketing campaigns for summer, holidays, weekends, special events, hotel stays, dining, entertainment, and family activities. Create marketing plans that support foot traffic, hotel bookings, events, tenant sales, and overall destination awareness.
Maintain brand consistency across signage, digital assets, advertising, email campaigns, printed materials, websites, and social media.
Coordinate marketing efforts between ownership, management, tenants, hotel teams, entertainment operators, and outside vendors.
Help create promotional packages between Wave, Bungalow, Pier Pins, Boardwalk Arcade, PV Mini Golf, restaurants, retailers, and other tenants.
Identify opportunities to better cross-promote the full Pier Village experience.
Oversee email newsletters, community updates, promotional campaigns, and digital advertising coordination.
Ensure all public-facing materials reflect the quality and energy of the Pier Village brand.

Events, Activations & Programming: Plan, coordinate, market, and help execute activations that make Pier Village feel alive, exciting, and worth visiting.

Build and manage an annual events and activation calendar.
Coordinate seasonal programming including summer events, holiday events, family programming, music, fitness, pop-ups, tenant events, and community experiences.
Develop creative activations that drive traffic to the boardwalk, hotels, restaurants, retail, arcade, bowling, and mini golf.
Work with vendors, entertainers, sponsors, local businesses, community groups, and municipal contacts.
Support event logistics including setup, signage, promotion, staffing, photography, and day-of execution.
Create post-event recaps with photos, metrics, and recommendations.
Look for sponsorship and partnership opportunities to offset costs and elevate programming.
Ensure activations are well branded, visually strong, and shareable on social media.

Public Relations & Community Partnerships: Manage public relations and local outreach to strengthen Pier Village's reputation and visibility.

Develop relationships with local, regional, and lifestyle media.
Pitch stories, events, hotel packages, restaurant news, destination features, and seasonal programming.
Coordinate press releases, media alerts, event announcements, and media visits.
Build relationships with local organizations, tourism groups, chambers, schools, nonprofits, influencers, and community leaders.
Identify opportunities for Pier Village to be featured in travel, lifestyle, hospitality, entertainment, dining, and real estate publications.
Help manage public-facing messaging during major events, openings, announcements, or sensitive situations.
Track press mentions and earned media coverage.

Tenant & Operator Support: Serve as a marketing resource and connector for tenants and operators throughout Pier Village.

Collect promotions, events, specials, new menu items, product launches, and updates from tenants.
Promote tenant activity through social media, email, website, signage, and events.
Coordinate cross-promotions between hotels, restaurants, retail, Pier Pins, Boardwalk Arcade, PV Mini Golf, and other businesses.
Help tenants participate in property-wide campaigns and events.
Create a system for regular tenant communication around marketing opportunities.
Ensure tenants feel supported and included in the broader Pier Village marketing strategy.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in social media, marketing, events, hospitality, retail, entertainment, tourism, real estate, or destination branding.
Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, email marketing, and digital content strategy.
Experience creating short-form video content and managing social media calendars.
Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience planning events, activations, or community programming preferred.
Comfortable working nights, weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods when needed.
Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including ownership, management, tenants, vendors, hotel teams, and outside agencies.
Strong eye for design, branding, photography, and content quality.
Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Later, Hootsuite, Mailchimp, or similar tools preferred.
Hospitality, lifestyle, retail, mixed-use, or entertainment marketing experience is a plus.
PR, influencer, or media relations experience is a plus.
