Description:
*Note: Duties for this hourly position may be assigned at the warehouse or machine shop - both locations are in Longmont, CO.
Conduct receiving and in process inspection.
Complete First Article inspection and documentation.
Issue nonconformance reports as required for product at receiving and in production.
Complete gage calibration.
Investigate and trouble shoot in process quality issues.
Provide basic inspection training to warehouse operators.
Identify parts needing further quality action.
Assist with establishment of receiving inspection requirements.
Draft procedures for job responsibilities as needed.
Maintain any log of activities necessary for reporting.
Transport pallets and materials using a forklift.
Assist warehouse manager as needed including but not limited to:
Act as a back-up for receiver duties
Perform assembly of parts and tools as needed, including packaging.
Perform shipping duties as needed.
Other duties as assigned
For a Senior level position, additional roles & responsibilities may include:
Performday-to-day quality tasks/operations for the manufacturing area regarding quality as well as assisting with lean initiatives on the Machine shop floor.
§ Provide QMS documentation of processes and procedures for manufacturing
o Design and at times build CMM fixturing, gauges, or other related quality tooling.
o Create programs for CMMs – PCDMIS and Polyworks.
o Be the CMM Subject Matter Expert
o Create and maintain process and procedures for CMMs, and other measuring equipment
Assist, mentor and train manufacturing with trouble shooting, process improvements and new operator training of quality aspects such as measurement.
Assists with and drive Corrective Actions, Root Cause, and Preventative actions.
Mentor Quality inspectors, and specialist in all aspects of quality to progress their skill sets and be successful.
Maintains product and company reputation by complying with company regulations and standards
Back up to Quality Manager as required
V. General Requirements:
· Must speak, read, and write English.
· Ability to comprehend math equivalent to 1 year of algebra.
· Ability to assemble and package parts from a Bill of Materials (B.O.M.).
· Must possess good written and oral communication skills.
· Ability to verify parts are quality parts, per Quality System.
· Must have understanding of Quality and GD&T.
· Ability to process shop orders.
· Ability to operate a pallet jack.
· Must possess basic mechanical skills
· Must possess good computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook.
· Ability to operate a forklift.
· Must follow all safety policies and guidelines.
· Operating knowledge of ERP system and products.
· Operating knowledge of inspection tools, measurement devices, and calibration systems.
· Operating knowledge of material standards and quality standards such as ISO.
For a Senior level position, additional requirements include:
· Education: College degree in related field, or equivalent direct work experience
· CMM programming and solid skills in training others on CMM.
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Solid Works or related CAD software
· Must have very strong problem-solving skills and detail oriented.
· Must have prior experience in, or be able to and learn how to operate machinery (CNC and manual)
· Ability to communicate with all personnel, including upper management regarding complex data sets
· Ability to read, interpret, and drawings, as necessary.
· Strong knowledge of inspection tools, measurement devices, and calibration systems.
· Strong knowledge of material standards and quality standards such as ISO and IATF.
· Statistical knowledge with advanced Excel skills.
· PCDMIS and/or Polyworks software skills preferred
· Mechanical capabilities to create fixturing
· ASQ certified quality inspector certification preferred
· Operating knowledge of ERP system and products.
· Must possess good written and oral communication skills, to include training of machine operators and machinist as assigned.
· Must have and maintain valid driver’s license and DMV report allowing for add to company driver policy.
VI. Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to; stoop, kneel and crouch, lift, bend and twist, use hands and fingers to manipulate small components, reach with hands and arms, read and write, talk and hear and use a computer. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Pay: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour
